My feelings too. My reaction was more of “Whoa!..wow…” I don’t feel like celebrating…I feel kinda…melancholy (not sad)…contemplative over his existence and what he did…and just having this overwhelming urge to pray.

We are not necessarily celebrating his death, but rather, we are celebrating that justice has finally been done. The decision was made 10 years ago to hunt down this man and make him pay for his crimes against humanity. It is right and proper for us to rejoice that the mission has been accomplished.
I am certainly not a supporter of President Obama, and I think it’s sad that he was able to see clearly the need to pursue Osama bin Laden, but he doesn’t see the need to preserve the lives of unborn human beings. However, I praise him for his tenacity and his willingness to facilitate and support this superb American military mission to destroy one of the greatest enemies of peace. I also praise him that the mission was kept secret and that no leaks occurred in this era of online revelation of pretty much everything.

Almost ten years ago, I was at work on 9/11.
Whenever we could get away from our work, I and my work associates gathered around the television set and watched in horror.
I don’t remember what I said–it was a pretty tough day, and most Americans like me were scared and angry and full of other emotions. In this frame of mind, I apparently said something that was taken by someone as “racist.”
I was written up by this “someone”, who apparently didn’t have the nerve to say anything directly to my face.
A few days after the attacks, I was called into the office by my supervisor, who was visibly upset over the write-up and in total sympathy with me, but she had to do her duty and inform me that I was now on probation and if another incident occurred, I could be fired from my job.
I was devastated over that write-up. I couldn’t believe that someone would not allow me the right to express my emotions over the terrorist attacks. But the “law” of my company was not on my side in this situation.
I watched my mouth and still watch my mouth at work. I didn’t get fired.
I just want to remind all of you that if you are in a work setting, be careful about what you say and how you say it. This is not a good time in the U.S.A. to be fired. If you are one of the world citizens rejoicing in Osama bin Laden’s death, save your celebration for a location other than the workplace. Think before you talk today.

I have to admit, I myself had a moment of hooray he’s gone. Mostly because my husband is a veteran and I am happy our troops were able to get the job done. I know I am guilty of blaring Toby Keith’s “Courteousy of the Red White and Blue” on my way to work today. I am sad however too that one of God’s children had to die and I do pray for his soul.

I’ve heard two different stories from two different networks this morning.
- They dumped his body in the ocean very quickly, because it would have caused danger - people gathering trying to view the body, trying to find a country that would be willing to take it…etc…
- They gave him a sea burial as per Islamic tradition.
