While the mobile DNA lab is news to me and would explain how a DNA test is possible onboard an aircraft carrier I still have to question how quickly one could be processed (even your link gets vague in that aspect). The other is the fact that this raid was decided on in a 16 hour time frame - would a non essential piece of equipment be transported across several time zones and delivered to a carrier deck, set up and produce a DNA sample in 28 hours total?
They had time to build a mock up of the compound and practice on it.
My understanding is that the practices were over a period of 2 weeks.

14 days is plenty of time to plan for the contingency.

I was just taking a look at this article, and didn’t realize how small and elite of a group Navy Seals are. And the mental training they go through sounds grueling. Not only are they physically fit, but must be highly intelligent along with being mentally strong.
Not to take anything away from the SEALs but also let’s not forget the nameless analysts, communications specialists, translators &c working away in cubicles at the NSA, CIA, &c.
👍

Photos… Bahhhh…

They’re going to make me sick to look at any way.

What I think is really relevent is the intel that has been gathered at the site of the raid. That’s so much more important and relevent. Let’s see what that reveals. Now, at least you’re talking about something that we can run with…

Quite right.
As for photos, who cares? Those who think bin Laden has been dead for years or wasn’t killed in Sunday’s raid & is still alive wouldn’t be satisfied by pictures.
And in a digital world pictures and videos aren’t proof of anything.

Bring back the Polaroid!!

I have no desire to look at a man who has been shot in the face.

However… when Leon Panetta and others go around saying its coming… and then its not.
The story on the raid has changed so many times…

Now… we dont want to offend Muslims…blah blah blah…

Obama says “how would Americans like it if they killed one of our soldiers and put the picture on line…”
Comparing our soldiers to a mass murderer is insulting.
And… they have.
Nick Berg, The contractors strung up in Faluja, black hawk in Somalia ect… on and on and on.
Not to mention… Americans on 9-11 jumping to their death.

Obama had no problem releasing Abu Ghirab photos…

Why has the media changed the spelling of his name?

I thought it was Osama, they have it now, Usama…

Whatever.

As Rush said today… had the seals put underwear on his head… we would all see the photo.

I guess when your position destroyed in such a spectacular fashion you need to post something that sounds smart – or at least you hope sounded smart.

Whatever.

As Rush said today… had the seals put underwear on his head… we would all see the photo.
Keep in mind that there’s a difference between how you may treat the enemy on the battlefield and how you may treat him once he’s in your custody and disarmed, according to the moral code of warfare that civilized nations follow.

But its perfectly Ok to violate a sovereign nation and put a bullet in the head of the enemy?

Whatever.

Agreed.

Because getting underwear put on your head is so much more of a human rights violation than having a full metal jacket 5.56 bullet blast through your head.

I’ll take the underwear any day, but I’m a glutton for punishment.

I’m not sure if you are aware or not, but do you know if he obeys the current discipline?

It’s one thing to hold an opinion that priests should be able to marry and have families while still being obedient to whatever the Pope dictates. It’s quite another to have that opinion and disobey the Pope.

Just curious.
Of course, you’re right. I have no clue as to that. The other issues really don’t matter anyway, because he was conservative on the issue relevent to what we are all talking about. He tried to explain the Christian view and for that, I praise him.
Again, while I have not yet found it in my heart to pray for bin Laden, I do understand where Father Beck and others on here are coming from, and it took courage to sit down with O’Reilly and try to debate him on the issue. Of course, the main problem I have is O’Reilly, being a ‘Catholic’ (according to him), basically said he was right and Father was wrong. I do have a problem with that.
