Thanks for the support…but it really is Mr S …
My apologies, Sir!
That’s the problem with discussion boards, you can’t see who is writing!

Good advice—I have read many posts.
Also very good advice which I sincerely hope you follow
While you may have read many posts, you have not learned. Best you continue to read, otherwise you will again ignore parts of a post like…

" The first time I heard from you, you called me “rude, infantile, agressive, obnoxious and a person who is not a good Christian”
And you expect me to put any credence in what you think?" which was stated and ignored.

My Godsent Parish!
saintcyrils.org/

It’s like walking into the studios of EWTN with a holy and dynamic young priest. (who also celebrates our Indult once every three weeks at St. Josephat)
You’re in Brighton, it’s in Sterling Heights. Come on down for Corpus Christi this Sunday. We have four outdoor altars! 10:00am combined Slovak and English (mostly English)

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about your parish… right down the road from where I used to live (15/Ryan). I have yet to make it to St Josephat… but I will.

We have a special priest coming in for this weekend’s Masses. Our pastor decided it was more important to go to Lincoln for an ordination of one who will make a wonderful priest. Our “sub” priests have been wonderful. And we do have Perpetual Adoration (2 years now.)

Ever been to Assumption Grotto…??

What is your parish? I love hearing about the Deep Catholic ones.
I haven’t been to the Grotto yet. I want to start going next year for Homeschooling Wednesdays. I’m from Cleveland and I get lost so easily here!!!

I said
2 wrongs never make a right, and there is NO excuse for rude, or infantile behavior.
If you do not agree with someone’s prayer posture, that is fine, but since there is no posture prescribed, you have no right to criticize anyone for their spirituality.
And it is certainly wrong to ridicule someone, and then say, “Only kidding” This is the tactic of the agressive and obnoxious, not a good method of communication for a loving Christian.
If you think your posts comparing a legitimate prayer posture to football plays, and ridiculing the people who use it are mature, documented and loving, that is your opinion. And you are certainly entitled to it,

However I do not agree.

Now really, it’s much better to civilly speak to me without the name calling isn’t it?

Especially when you are accusing others of this.

perhaps you would do well to follow your own advice

I’ve learned that you came in here with strong opinions, condemned long time posters and seem to be just like someone else who was banned a bit ago.

I have schooling to do. As I said before, you are not always right, you may be somewhat right, I may be somewhat right and there are grey areas that you will learn as you see as you follow along.

Have a blessed Day!🙂

Currently it is Holy Spirit in Brighton.

The parish has a “home-schooling” Thursday, and a rather large number of homeschoolers. I sometimes wish the powers that be would make better use of the homeschoolers families. They have both deep convictions, and impressive results. The parish, or rather some of the parish, is really trying to make a pre-school to 8th grade school grow (about 65 students after 3 years).

Homeschoolers still have the best.

As for the “deep Catholic”… we have many of those familes, but less than we had (many left after unresolved concerns). Perpetual Adoration is the real strength. Our summer missions have stopped (had Frs Corapi, Straub, Forrest, Pacwa etc, ). My love is apologetics, and the teen group (25+) I moderate each Wednesday. My gray hairs are my constant reminder that there is little time to do so much.

One of our “strange habits” is an additional “alleluha” after the Gospel reading … another is the blessing of children as they accompany their parents to communion. Nice gestures, but not the place for them IMHO

MrS, could you PM me with more details of the “unresolved concerns”? As you might remember, I attend Holy Spirit as often as I can. Over time I have noticed some of the changes you reference. Since I am not there regularly, I am unfamiliar with some of the specifics. Thanks!

I agree with most the holding hands at this point has not been approved by the vatican. I will also state that no one is forced to hold hands and can go to the norm when praying the Our Father and utilize the praying hands, that is approved. I will say that in looking at  the big picture “One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church” What a great sense of community and unity this portrays
with holding hands and praying as one. I do not believe in my heart that Christ would find condemnation in this. Do You?

Greetings Church

This certainly is a hot topic. I have read so many posts on this and feel that we will not come together in the near future on this and a few other points.

Many folks want Latin Masses, others, what they consider very Traditional Masses. Some of are Charismatics and are very touchy/feely people in how we express our faith. Other folks express they really do not like being touched by strangers. Apparently, in some parishes the members remain strangers throughout the years and in other parishes they become very much like family. Which one is right? That is something I can’t answer. Maybe all or maybe each one is a little bit right.

All I do know is that every Catholic should have the opportunity to grow spritually in an atmosphere that is good for them. And I do mean, EVERY CATHOLIC. Ideally it should be in ones own parish. We are just too human, though and it doesn’t seem to be happening.

I believe every Diocese should have Parishes that celebrate Mass in Latin, have older style Traditional Parishes (whatever that is) and I believe there should be a Charismatic Catholic Parish or at least Mass available to us Charismatics.

I can hear the moans already. Sure, give us our Latin, give us our Traditional but NO NO NO, not a Charismatic Parish. HUH, HUH, HUH, oh? Am I wrong?

I am not new to this forum. I, too am a senior member, have watched, read and learned. I know exactly what I am talking about.

You have hit the exact nail on the head, Dear Lady!!!
I have no problem with anyone celebrating a Charismatic mass as long as I know that our traditional mass is celebrated as well!
While you see people coming to you in the Charistmatic movement, I see people leaving (to go to the local Lutheran church) because of it. In our area, people go there because it is more conservative.
We need balance.
Our traditional parish with the NO with Latin and Greek is growing out of our church (double the families in 3 years) because we are the ONLY parish that offers this. Out of 12 in our vicariate.
If we had both this would not be a problem at all.

May I ask you what part of the country you live in?

I am originally from Southern California but have spent the past 15 years in beautiful Northern California.
