Way to take a news event and turn it into a tirade about a personal agenda.Mine start boiling when they started allowing the laity to handle the sacred particles with their hands. Seems like it was a precursor to all these public displays of desacralization.
I’m beginning to think you’re right. It could be some people have way too much time on their hands.he can say they were consecrated hosts, but they probably weren’t.
he just knows he will enrage people more by saying they are.
Really? I hate to remind you that before Vatican II it was considered a sacrilege for any laity to touch the Eucharist. Now with the right permissions any one can do it.Way to take a news event and turn it into a tirade about a personal agenda.

There are man “pre-Vatican II” beliefs and practices that have found themselves on the wayside. The Church tried to live in a vacuum for 400 years after Trent. It didn’t help anything.Really? AmenLet us all pray for this man.
Probably not. You can get 1000 communion wafers for like $9 on Amazon. More likely that’s where he got them, then took that photo to enrage people.he can say they were consecrated hosts, but they probably weren’t.

that is what I believe also.Probably not. You can get 1000 communion wafers for like $9 on Amazon. More likely that’s where he got them, then took that photo to enrage people.
I honestly hope this is the case as well. However, given the picture in the article, I suspect actual consecrated Hosts may have been involved.that is what I believe also.
what was it from the picture that makes you believe the hosts were consecrated? is the artist Catholic or a former Catholic?I honestly hope this is the case as well. However, given the picture in the article, I suspect actual consecrated Hosts may have been involved.
As for laity being allowed to administer communion … anyone that wishes to desecrate a Host such as this individual claims to have done, will just dupe the priest instead of an EMOHC and go ahead and commit sacrilege anyway.![]()
There’s some theories that were expounded here; perhaps he had collaborators who went to daily Mass to collect as many hosts as possible; perhaps he went to more than one parish per day during daily Mass; in larger cities it isn’t unusual for there to be multiple daily masses, many at different times. As for the picture (pbs.twimg.com/media/CUblZp9WoAAWKa7.jpg), it looks as though he is walking away from the Eucharistic Minister and about to place it into his hand; though it isn’t clear whether he is putting it into his mouth or about to remove it.what was it from the picture that makes you believe the hosts were consecrated? is the artist Catholic or a former Catholic?
I don’t understand how over 200 times he would have been able to not consume the host without being caught.
I just saw this thread and am disgusted by it, but I guess it comes down to whether they were truly consecrated or not, if the claim is they were, I have to wonder why God did not take any action against this, surely that would be plenty to get at least some kind of divine warning.Probably not. I don’t think Provobis has tried to live in a vacuum if s/he’s read books on particle physics. For the record, I don’t have a problem with reception in the hand, and that is how I regularly receive. However, Provobis’ point seems practical; concern that the ability to receive by hand makes theft for the workaday person easier. There are man “pre-Vatican II” beliefs and practices that have found themselves on the wayside. The Church tried to live in a vacuum for 400 years after Trent. It didn’t help anything.
While this in and of itself may be true, it isn’t true that it’s a practice “introduced with Vatican II.”However, Provobis’ point seems practical; concern that the ability to receive by hand makes theft for the workaday person easier.
I wonder who took his picture!? How weird! Thanks for posting the link to this picture. There’s some theories that were expounded here; perhaps he had collaborators who went to daily Mass to collect as many hosts as possible; perhaps he went to more than one parish per day during daily Mass; in larger cities it isn’t unusual for there to be multiple daily masses, many at different times. Perhaps only some of them were actually consecrated; the others being simple bread.
