If the question is why Muslims are “obsessed” about Palestine, the answer is because their brothers and sisters have been suffering there not for 3 weeks, not for 3 months, not for 3 years, but for over 60 years.

Also, the suffering of the Palestinians is a direct result of Israeli aggression and US support for that aggression.
Actually their suffering is the result of Palestinian aggression against Israel.

The current suffering of Palestinians because of IDF assaults may be the result of Qassam rocket fire from terrorist forces but Palestinians have been suffering longer than the last few weeks of the Israeli occupation, life has been a struggle for Palestinian citizens for a long time oppression by Israel

Every time, it was due to attacks from the Palestinians. Even back to 1948 when the UN divided up the land between jews and palestinians, and the palestinians started a war over it, which led to the 1949 borders.

islam is not just about religion. it dictates politics as well. we must pray every night for the conversion of muslim souls.

Volume 9, Book 85, Number 77:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

While we were in the mosque, Allah’s Apostle came out to us and said, “Let us proceed to the Jews.” So we went along with him till we reached Bait-al-Midras (a place where the Torah used to be recited and all the Jews of the town used to gather). The Prophet stood up and addressed them, “O Assembly of Jews! Embrace Islam and you will be safe!” The Jews replied, “O Aba-l-Qasim! You have conveyed Allah’s message to us.” The Prophet said, “That is what I want (from you).” He repeated his first statement for the second time, and they said, “You have conveyed Allah’s message, O Aba-l-Qasim.” Then he said it for the third time and added, “You should Know that the earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle, and I want to exile you fro, this land, so whoever among you owns some property, can sell it, otherwise you should know that the Earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle.” (See Hadith No. 392, Vol. 4)
I don’t think suicide bombers and the families that celebrate them would agree with you.
My point was simply this: the origin of the ideology came from sources other than just Islam. Palestinians didn’t like having their land taken and divided up. Regardless of religion, this caused war. That the majority are Muslims allowed the formation of Islamic militant brigades with very close and exclusive membership (like brotherhoods). I never denied that it has changed–just that it was not originally about Islam. The element of Islam being part of Palestinian nationalism was not George Habash’s ideology.

The mainstream media has no interest in covering Darfur (except to disguise the raping of Sudan’s natural resources, which is exactly what is happening there) or Kashmir, or Chechnya. They’re not interested–they don’t care what Muslims have to say. They don’t. That doesn’t mean Muslims don’t have anything to say–I know at my mosque we routinely have fund drives and send food and other donations to the suffering populations of various Muslim nations from the Sudan to Thailand. They set up homes for refugees from Burma and Iraq. If you follow blogs you’ll find loads and loads of noise about the struggles between India and Pakistan.

The only place you won’t find it is on the news. Hm!

Also, because the USA plays such a vital role in the ability of Israel to transgress against its neighbors, the USA becomes a target of protests against the suffering of Palestinians. No other nation is supporting Israel the way the USA does, so Palestine is making the news more, and Americans are also more involved in that particular conflict.

The fact that Palestine is home to a holy city in Islam (that is, Jerusalem) is of much less significance than the fact that the population is being practically suffocated in a concentration camp, without access to adequate food, fuel, or medical supplies (due to the blockade,) without freedom to travel its own roads (as in the West Bank), frequently under obscene curfews such that children are not even allowed to go to school.

What is being done in the name of democracy around the world is a travesty, and when the US bears responsibility for it, you can’t escape hearing about it.
The reason for the “obscene” curfews and checkpoints and other things is because of the suicide bombers and other attacks by Hamas. They are defensive methods. If Hamas would just stop the rockets, suicide bombers and recognize Israels right to exist then all the above will go away and there will be peace

Wherever I go, I Hear the Same Tired Middle East Comparisons

By Robert Fisk

The massacre in Gaza is justified because Hamas would have done the same if they could, even though they didn’t do it because they couldn’t.

It took Fintan O’Toole, The Irish Times’s resident philosopher-in-chief, to speak the unspeakable. “**When does the mandate of victimhood expire?” **he asked. “At what point does the Nazi genocide of Europe’s Jews cease to excuse the state of Israel from the demands of international law and of common humanity?”

Are we forgetting who crucified Jesus?
haha , I am sure , in next few years many Christians will start believing that it was the Muslims who murdered their Lord.

Are we forgetting who crucified Jesus?
The romans did but it was not a religious penalty for them, it was not in any scriptures or ordained by any of their gods.

But in the quran the punishment is there prescribed.

Muslims speaking out againt Hamas and Iran. Too bad the Muslims on this fourm don’t have that kind of courage.

More impressively, an Iranian student group is pointing the finger at its own government. “Those who have armed and encouraged groups like Hamas . . . have innocent blood on their hands,” read a communiqué published December 30 in an Iranian newspaper and translated by the invaluable Middle East Media Research Institute. “Israel’s current crimes in Gaza are strongly to be condemned – but it is equally [important] to condemn the terror organizations that use kindergartens and hospitals as a shield against [Israeli] attacks.”

Just curious , if Zionists destroy the Chruch related to Jesus (p) , still Chrisitans will think that it’s their religious duty to support the Jews ?
“What if” questions will not work on Christians when it comes to supporting the Jews. The gospel is to the Jew first, then the Gentile. The ultimate support of the Jewish people is treating them who they really are, God’s original covenant people. No matter how bad, secular, over-religious you make them out to be, Christians are without excuse when it comes to supporting the Jewish people.

St.Paul(Saul) was a Jew, and before coming to Christ, was “still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples.”(Acts 9:1) St.Paul was going after Church people, not Church buildings you claim “zionists” are going after. Yet, by God’s grace, St.Paul became the apostle to the Gentiles.

Granted that Palestinians don’t want their land to be divided.

Now who truly own the lands, which are now Israel, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza & West Bank and the Sinai Peninsula? Who are truly natives to these lands? What is the cut off dates of the length of their stay when you should consider them the rightful owners of the lands?

We know that borders keep on changing and similarly the inhabitants. Do we recognized the 1907, 1945, 1948 borders? Or even further back? Or even back to 33 AD or 570 BC? The Persians trace their Kings to thousand of years whether in continuous lineage or not.

I wish the Palestine question should be straight forward enough then maybe we don’t have any problem that we encounter today. If not then other claimants will surely challenge anyone who wants to have everything there.

There is an answer to that question. But there are some built-in assumptions in your post. It sounds more to me like a “let’s talk about how evil Jews or Americans are” post instead of a post that sincerely asks who put Saddam in power.
LOL 👍

she got pwned 😃

The link in my signature is to a letter written in 1947 (6 months or so before the creation of the state of Israel) by the King of Jordan. It sums up the Muslim position, and since it’s over 60 years old, I hope people can avoid trying to impose ulterior motives. It actually provides the essence of what has been the argument of the Arabs for over 60 years now.

Let’s all pray for peace in the middle east. Peace for everyone who lives there.
I think most people agree that the Palestinians have gotten the short end of the stick.

But the solution isn’t to keep this low-level terrorism guerrilla war going on for another 60 years. This has only resulting in them slowly losing more and more land.

Look at all the money the international community is willing to pour into solving this problem. If the palestinians would agree to peace they could get huge funding (think of the amount Egypt gets paid to keep peace) and have a real civilization there.

Instead, they focus on “its not fair” and keep fighting. And that will never work. Their solution is to accept peace and appeal to the international community for help. Help dealing with Israel and help financially to get back on their feet.

…Christians are without excuse when it comes to supporting the Jewish people.
.
Is there any punishment for the Chosen people in hereafter or Jesus (p) said Jews are allowed to do whatever they want & heaven is guaranteed for them ?

^ I guess that’s a rhetorical question 🙂 The New Testament asks for respect and adherence to of sacred scriptures of the Jewish people but Christians and other religious people are ‘without excuse’ when it comes to helping anybody and I would hope it is not specified to support Jewish people in particular above all others uncircumstancially

What about the land? Which borders should Israel revert back to? Would Israel be willing to retreat within a new border?

Actually their suffering is the result of Palestinian aggression against Israel.
So you have been led to believe. Palestinians have been suffering because of Zionism long before Israel even existed, officially, and their suffering has gotten worse as the decades pass by.

The reason for the “obscene” curfews and checkpoints and other things is because of the suicide bombers and other attacks by Hamas. They are defensive methods. Hamas did stop the rockets. Then Israel decided to attack. So Hamas went back to launching rockets.

It’s only a myth that Israel is fighting just because Hamas is launching rockets. Hamas is willing to recognize Israel’s right to exist, but only if they can get peace and fair treatment out of it. The politicians who say otherwise are part of a vast propaganda scheme trying to make Hamas seem positively inhuman.

How can you expect people to “accept peace” while they are under siege? While they are occupied? Does that make sense?

Absolutely it makes sense… look at Germany and Japan in World War II. They surrendered, were occupied, and things have been great for them ever since.

Surrender!

So you want them to surrender… ahh… you don’t want them to be free, you want them to be occupied, or expelled. That says it all!

I think Germany and Japan aren’t proper examples–since they actually had militaries, they were actually going to war an invading other countries.

Think of Czechoslovakia.
