If you and everyone else has the right to their opinion, then Billy Graham has the right to his opinion. I honestly think it’s just an easy way out to say “We are allowed to say he is an idiot for what he did because it is our opinion”
You are free to put words into other people’s mouths if you wish, i guess.

The “facts” are of a biased view from an article. Things are written in a perspective to make one appear the enemy and the other appear to be an aging senile man.
Hmmm, not the facts I was referring to. The facts of Billary and their illegal and immoral behaviors are well documented.

One ex-president who left office under a cloud, and a single junior Senator are going to impose their liberal beliefs upon our nation?

LOL! ! Even I, a liberal, don’t believe that they’re as almighty as you do.

I really think the moral fabric of this nation suffered greatly under 8 years of Bill Clinton. While anyone really doesn’t have much power individually as President, collectively he/she (??) can greatly affect the direction of the country. IMHO Clinton was a disaster (and this is from someone who voted for him both times - I was schnookered unfortunately, but better late than never for a conversion :o ).

That a minister with the reputation of Mr. Graham would make an apparent, if subtle, political endorsement of Mrs. Clinton’s ambitions, well, it’s surprising to say the least. I’m saddened that anyone, let alone Billy Graham, would hold their “Christian” opinions in any esteem.

I did lose respect for Graham over this. As I remember, he did visit presidents while they were in office, which doesn’t necessarily mean an endorsement. It just shows his respect (and his own importance). But frankly I just thought he’d think less of Bill after all the Lewinsky scandal. You can’t help but think that a moral leader you admire might feel the same way. I do think age has something to do with it. I think he feels a shift of public opinion on Iraq and wants to end up on the “right” side of the controversy when it settles out.

You can bet that Schenk wouldn’t have said a word if Dr. Graham had endorsed the likes of Mr. Bush!
Can’t believe people are getting upset about this…

I mean, I know there are a bunch of Hillary haters that post here, but good grief, it was a freaking joke people!!! Let it go!!

Dr. Graham gets OVER THE TOP props in my book. He has seen it all and always maintains an air of dignity. I love the way he says that he looks forward to his death. I found that very inspiring.:clapping:

Do you think less of Henry Hyde, the pro-life Representative because he had zipper trouble?

LOL!!! Too funny. I don’t believe Hyde ever was President of the USA. But of course, Hyde’s sinful behavior has zip to do with the issues in the thread.

I agree, is there a source for them, thanks I would appreciate it.

National Clergy Council president Rev. Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK) walked out on his role model Billy Graham after the evangelist surrendered his microphone to Bill Clinton on the third night of his New York City crusade, then gave a veiled endorsement to Senator Hillary Clinton who was sitting nearby on stage.

According to the Associated Press, when Bill Clinton joined him on stage, Graham “quipp[ed] that the former president should become an evangelist and allow ‘his wife to run the country.’”

Rev. Schenck has considered Billy Graham his role model for over 25 years. That’s why the Capitol Hill minister traveled from Washington, DC, to New York City this weekend to witness what may be the ailing evangelist’s last crusade. But after he saw the Clintons exploit the aging Graham, he couldn’t bear to stay and hear him preach.

“I was stunned and appalled,” said Schenck, who left the Flushing Meadows Park as Graham was still complimenting the Clintons.

“This was a deliberate, cunning, purely political move by the Clintons to divide the Evangelical vote and assure Hillary of a victory in '08,” said Schenck, a minister with the Evangelical Church Alliance and a missionary to elected officials.

What?

Bill Bennett spoke about this incident on his radio program this morning. He said that Billy Graham has always had too much awe for powerful men to the point that he completely overlooks their faults. As ya’ll should remember, he was quite a friend of Richard Nixon, even during Nixon’s downfall. He is apparently a bit ‘star struck’ by the Clintons who are really not a very classy pair. It’s a shame that he would imply support for someone like Mrs Clinton who is frankly the antithesis of a “Christian wife.” She can’t even keep her husband from straying, imagine her running the USA???

Reminds me of Mother Theresa’s scolding of President Clinton. Clearly she was awestruck by no man. God Bless her.

We need to start a collection so that people can buy senses of humor. Note the added emphasis:

quip: *verb; *to make quips; to jest or gibe at.
quip: *noun; *a clever usually taunting remark; gibe; a witty or funny observation or response usually made on the spur of the moment

IOW, if Graham was indeed quipping, he was mocking Mr. and Senator Clinton.

That’s what I thought, too…He was making a joke, people.

Billy Graham lost a lot of credibility when he was caught on Nixon White House tapes disparaging Jews. He and his “crusades” are carefully orchestrated performances. Apparently, a good proportion of those who attend his revivals and pledge their lives to Christ are already evangelical Christians who have already “answered” similar altar calls.

To make a “quip” at Bill Clinton’s expense, yes that’s funny. But why add the part about “Mrs.” Clinton? Roll your eyes if you will, but the Clintons are hitching their wagons. That doesn’t bother some of you apparently  but IMNSHO it is troubling. As if the unborn weren’t already in danger in this society.

With all due respect to Mr. Graham, thank God we have our Pope. :gopray:

The young too. Ruth Bader Ginsberg, when she worked for the ACLU, co-authored a report suggesting the age of consent be lowered to 12. She and Breyer, Clinton’s other SCOTUS appointment are, of course, as pro-abortion as one can be.

Let us not forget either that Hillary partied at a feminist conference in Communist China–the home of the “Better Ten Graves than One Extra Birth” policy

Dr. Graham is not liked by many Evangelicals because when Catholics attend his rallies, his teams always refer the Catholics to the local parishes instead of to Evangelical churches. Dr. Graham is a friend of Catholicism, not an enemy like Fundamentalists are.

Mr. Bush does not have character credibility issues like Hillary. Doesn’t Mr Shenk have the right to express his opinion?:yup:
