An excellent point—our heroes didn’t lay down their lives for men like Wright to damn them as Al Qaeda under a different flag.

A pastor is supposed to be a man of God, called to a higher standard. There is a marked unwillingness in some quarters to hold Wright to the apostolic standard. Wonder why?
Here’s a thought for everyone:

***“I am not fighting for a freedom that means the right to whatever I please but for a freedom that means the right do whatever I ought. Oughtness implies Law; Law implies Intelligence, and Intelligence implies God.” ***- Bishop Fulton Sheen’s Wartime Prayer Book

Now that Sen. Obama has repudiated Rev. Wright, when will Cardinal George repudiate Fr. Pfleger?

A well taken point on Father Pfleger - and no, I certainly wouldn’t want this guy in my parish. But I do think folks want the Cardinal to take action. To watch this priest run around with Wright and Farrakhan, proclaiming them great men and mugging it up for the TV cameras is disgusting.

There is absolutely no context in which Wright’s comments can be heard and not be considered hateful. His “performance” at the National Press Club was just as appalling as his videos - which are sold by his church, by the way. These were not videos taken secretly - he is proud of himself. This man is hateful, and he does not preach love for your fellow man.

Wright was being interviewed recently on TV and was asked what he would call a white preacher who ranted against blacks like he does whites. His response was “A Christian.” That statement alone should be enough to have him kicked out of a leadership position in any church that professes to believe in Christ.
