Ted Cruz or bust. I’m not voting for another RINO like Romney or McCain. If the GOP nominates another RINO they’ll lose anyway.

Plus I would just love to see Ted Cruz destroy in debate whatever hack the Democrat party nominates.

Go for it. I’d like to see him debate myself. Maybe he can dig himself out of the hole he’s in now. it’s a long way off.

Lib princess, what do you propose we do about out of control entitlement and welfare spending in this country? Just vote straight ticket democrat and hope everything will work out?
Maybe we can save a few bucks if we look at the defense budget.

You support the money pit that is the ACA, but want to cut defense, even though national defense is actually defined as a principle responsibility of the fed in the Constitution? Sure, as long as we look at the budget items that are larger than defense first. I myself wouldn’t take anything off the table, but no one wants to be the one to address Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid.

We’ll see what the Senators will do when Janet Yellen’s name comes up for vote. That will be the first true test, as far as I can tell.

She has more experience than the three previous. It should be interesting.

I am for Paul Ryan. I selected “Ryan” from the options in the poll because I assumed it was listing the last names. I wish it would have listed the full names and then I wouldn’t have been as confused about who to choose. Should I have picked “Paul” instead? Sorry if I chose the wrong option. 😊
lol…good luck with a House Representative as a Presidential nominee. Has there even ever been a rep elected president??

I just love to see the righties fight about this. Just a sure sign that Hillary is just gonna walk into the White House. Righties will never understand that Americans have already rejected their brand of conservatism. Candidates like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Rick Perry are NEVER gonna become president. If one of them are nominated then it will be a Goldwater type of election result.

The candidates that Democrats do fear are Jeb Bush and Chris Christie. If one of those two are nominated then you have a real battle on your hands. But of course the righties won’t nominate them because unless you’re a “wacko bird” as John McCain said then you’re a RINO.

So please continue to implode the GOP and the adults in the Dem Party will continue to win the presidency. 👍👍👍👍

No offense, but we hear this all the time. Why would any conservative take the advice of people who think so differently than them, and who don’t have their best intentions at heart?

I see more advice from the left about who the right needs to nominate, or what strategy they need to have in this election or that, than I have ever seen from conservatives on who Democrats should run or what strategy they should have. Going back 2004, I can’t recall a single conservative offering advice for Democrats and their candidates. I’ve seen three in just the last 24 hours on here. Most conservatives couldn’t care less what the Democrats do with their nominee, other than hope hey have a defeatable candidate. Why on earth would anyone take advice from people who have a completely opposite world view and set of priorities on nearly 100% of issues? I suspect most conservatives think anyone with a liberal mindset is so completely screwed up in their thinking (and likewise, I suspect most liberals think the same thing about conservatives) that most of what they say comes up as crazy nonsense. It would nice if it wasn’t that way, but in a time when you can’t even agree on seemingly obvious issues where the Church has even spoken, it unfortunately is.

Says the winner of the 2008 Presidential elections. 👍

Clinton won 2 terms, then Bush won two terms. Now Obama has won two terms. How’s that hopey changey thing working for Obama? Seems Obama’s administration is imploding here. Last I heard, the Republicans had the majority in the House. Many new young freshmen elected in 2010. I hardly think the Republicans are imploding. They just don’t walk lockstep like the Dems do.

Hillary Clinton is ‘just gonna walk into the White House?’ Just how was it was presumed she was going to take that walk in 2007/8? Wasn’t she originally portrayed as a sort of invincible candidate?

You say that Americans rejected the brand of conservatism and then you mention Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Rick Perry, but they all won their respective elections and/or reelections, so Americans obviously haven’t rejected the conservatism these three men represent.
First, at the same time that President Barack Obama was reelected, conservatives took control of more governor offices and state legislatures than at any time in modern history. There are now 30 center-right governors stretching from Arizona to Maine. In addition, conservatives now control 27 center-right state legislatures entirely and split power in five other states.

While the past two Republican presidential nominees lost, at the state level, Republicans have more governorships and have control of more state legislatures than Democrats.

This post, in my humble opinion, is why the Church has to speak out loudly and clearly. Too many catholics think that are good Catholics and vote for someone like Clinton, Obama, Pelosi, Kerry (just to name a few) because of skewed stance on social justice issues.

Hope and pray that it’s Rand Paul, and it’s certainly possible - he has all of his father’s strengths and none of his weaknesses. No, America has not rejected “their” brand of conservatism; they have rejected liberal RINOs like McCain and Romney, and an actual constitutional conservative has yet to be tested in a national election. Ted Cruz wouldn’t be a disaster either, and both of them would blow any Democrat out of the water in a debate setting and on the issues, so the future looks bright for the right.

Maybe but it will demonstrate their (Senator’s) knowledge of fiscal and monetary policies and their effects on the general economy. The stock market generally takes into account the perceived actions and words of the Fed so it will be important.

As Rothschild once said, “Give me control over the nation’s money supply and I care not who makes its laws.”

I don’t think that is going to be pretty. There is plenty of economic ignorance in both parties.

I support Ryan…or I guess Christie.

Someone who has a brain with at least a remote shot of winning. I don’t really like Christie but at least he is popular and is intelligent.

And I love to see smug leftists be overconfident about their chances to win in 2016. As I mentioned before, a year is an eternity in politics. And we have 3 years. Can you say, “Obama fatigue” ? 8 years of Democrat rule and the country will likely be in the mood for a non-Democrat.

Btw, on which issue are these “wacko birds” as you call them, different from Reagan who won a 49 state landslide in 1984?

It is just as likely that many Catholics are indifferent to whether or not they are good Catholics. Like Obama in Wright’s church, Christianity is mostly a means to a political end.

Invariably, progressive Catholics never struggle with the teachings of the Church. They latch on to the social justice and employ it to ensure that the ideals of anti-Catholics prevail in society.
