What is there to discuss? In comparison, the differences between the candidates could not be more stark. For me, such microscopic examination is purely academic.

I simply stated that the fact he doesn’t disclose his returns makes him suspicious to me. If anyone reads more into it there is nothing more I can do. That will be all I have to say on that subject.

To paraphrase a quote I read recently, I am much more concerned with what Obama wants to do with my money than I am with with Romney does with his own money.

If he wont disclose how come we know about them? As far as I know Obama was born in America.

Neither does the Church teach that we must support a candidate who has zero chance of election. The Church does teach that we may vote to limit the damage done - and that is exactly what this election cycle is about.

Paul Ryan Said Something That Should Force Him Off the Ticket, But You Probably Didn’t Hear It

To give an overview, in an interview Paul Ryan said that he was pro-life no matter what the method of conception. The author of the piece is trying to spin it to say that Ryan claimed that rape is morally equivalent to all other means of conceiving a baby. He said nothing of the sort, but a lot of those responding, not to mention my irate liberal Facebook friends, have drunk his Kool-Aid. Good luck trying to post a reasonable, contrary reply, though; I’ve had a couple deleted already.

I was speaking of the returns he will not disclose and the lack of transparency in the one that he did but, I do not wish to continue that arguement if that is ok. As far as the obama comment, I really don’t know why that was brought up except to say I was being as hard on Romeny as others are to Obama ie birthers. that was not my comment, I too agree he is an American.

Read the comments! There are all these comments from people who disagree with Ryan’s position on abortion but hit back at the lies and spin coming from the HuffPo trash talk. When you can’t even convince your supporters (and trust me HuffPo is VERY Left) that’s pretty pathetic.

It’s amazing how desperate the Dems are sounding. Chris Matthews almost burst a blood vessel in his head, claiming the Republicans are “playing the race card” when referring to welfare reform. Funny thing…no one on the REPUBLICAN side brought up race with respect to welfare reform. It was Matthews who made the grand (and rather racist) assumption that any discussion of welfare reform is a “dog whistle” for race baiting…PUH-LEASE!

I wouldn’t to so far as to see it as a race thing either. More just a way to keep up the support from that voting block of birthers and the white male vote.

I did however agree with Chris towards the end of the argument when referring to healthcare. How many past presidents have pushed for this very reform and it was not considered as stemming from a European influence and actually was supported by the right.

There’s still a substantial number taking the article at face value, and at least one who’s outraged that Ryan is promoting rape as “contraception.” And it still annoys me that my comments were deleted. I have way too many liberal friends who swallow whatever they read/hear so I’m sure I’ll be seeing this article reposted several more times in the next few days.

Oh of course but I figured on HuffPo we’d get about 99.999% claiming that Ryan was advocating rape to impregnate unwilling women. I was surprised that even the Left was willing to admit the words were completely misrepresented.

The reality is that Ryan’s position is the Consistent Life Ethic of the Church, even if it’s not the mainstream view. While I think more and more Americans are pro-life, most will make exception for rape and incest even though it doesn’t change the status of the unborn child from human to disposable.

I just have to contrast the anti-life females being trotted out by the DNC…head of Planned Parenthood, head of NARAL, Sandra Fluke the Poster Girl for “Someone needs to pay for my sexual activity!” Oh and I am sure Debbie Wasserman Schultz…she of the angry perm and scowl will be a highlight of the week. Those are an unhappy bunch and given their philosophy, it’s no surprise.

Isn’t it a contrast between the positive, forward thinking, idea-minded Republicans and the angry, reactionary Democrats? They have no new ideas, just attacks on Romney for being succcessful. I am starting to think that the Democrats are fighting a losing battle. We must continue to fight on our side though - don’t let up until Nov. 7th. And then just for a breather until we continue the fight to support the Republican when they do the right thing - but also hold them accountable if necessary.

Completely agree with you here. Dems can’t support their record, so they have to run a negative campaign. Sandra Fluke? She’s a nobody.
