I think what Mitt has said is that he wants to pull all federal funding from Planned Parenthood. That is what he and his wife said in a recent interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. It wouldn’t be his role to close Planned Parenthood down.

Actually his wife’s position on abortion isn’t the issue. I’m sure Romney will get votes from his own “former” position of pro-choice, which he made very clear in his videos. This is where politics gets real ugly, when politicians get away with talking from both sides of their mouths just to win elections.How? Is the campaign trumpeting her alleged donations in an effort to get votes from the pro-abortion side? I haven’t even heard the campaign mention it.

The Arkansas State government has had surpluses all along, and so was able to pass some of that to us bureaucrats. So, it wasn’t Obama nor I who did it for me, I guess.
You know I think this is a real winner for Romney and something I hope he continues to spotlight. Obama’s hostility to any below the ground energy is clear. He went to the extent of defying a court order to resume drilling after the gulf spill and has blocked the Keystone Pipeline, promoted impossible fuel standards and those exploding battery powered cars. He’s pushing the complete demise of the coal industry.
I don’t know, I just heard about it and find it a little damaging to his pro-life stance. I know you and others on this forum want to just take RR at their word but, I’d rather go by their past records.
Our friends? Not mine. I’m not impressed with all of the “tu quoque” responses there. It doesn’t dispute what Ryan said, just responds with “yeah, but he did such-and-such, too.” Weak. Ryan did not “ask for” stimulus funds. He sent form letters in support of constituents who asked for funding. It’s the difference between applying for a job and writing a letter of reference. The Janesville GM plant story is way off in this “fact check.” The plant continued production into spring, 2009. But, the timing is actually irrelevant to the issue: Obama promised to keep it open, even when he knew its closure was planned, and now it’s closed. Obama led people to believe that if he was elected, the plant would stay open. They voted for him. Plant closed. That’s the point.
Romney is weak (the “I’m pro-life with exceptions” stance is actually incoherent, in my opinion) on abortion. But, he’s still better than Obama on the issue. That’s a pretty low bar.
How is the possibility that his wife may have given money to Planned Parenthood have any bearing on Mitt Romney’s pro-life stance? And, why do you accuse me of just taking “RR” at their word? I’ve looked through their past record thoroughly.
I’ve noticed these various “fact checks” have turned into opinion sites that stray far from just checking the facts. They lose all credibility when they do that.

Yeah. The “FACT CHECK” (all caps when I see it at Yahoo!, for example. Why is that?) idea has jumped the shark. I’m done with it. I don’t care who they’re talking about.

actually…US oil production is at it’s highest since Obama, but I’m sure there’s a way to deny him that achievement. either way we must not ignore that eventually we must go to renewable energy…it has to happen, why wait till it’s too late? This morning NPR must have been LIVID!!! They couldn’t report on anything Ryan said last night without interjecting opinions and “facts.” Threw in little “hehe’s” and innuendo. It was way beneath them.
True, but not enough to meet demand. That’s a problem.
I’ve found them to be pretty factual and non bias. As far as oil production rising in the US isn’t necessarily due to Obamas policies and they don’t hide the facts about it.
