Here is a great analysis of Ryan’s plan. Read all the six links at the bottom of the article:

washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-partisan/post/once-again-paul-ryan-is-not-what-you-think/2012/08/11/eef229a4-e37a-11e1-98e7-89d659f9c106_blog.html

This analysis also considers the good ideas in Ryan’s plan (like premium support for Medicare) which it suggests also Democrats might endorse if they are serious about the issues, but overall it is a very rational and relentless analysis of facts vs. claims in the Ryan plan. I don’t expect die-hard right-wingers who are set in their ideology and do not wish to educate themselves to read it, but those who are serious about good information should definitely read it. It is quite enlightening.
Yes this man sounds very “post partisan” NOT:

**As a former Clinton Office of Management and Budget aide who has looked closely at Ryan’s plans, I can tell you he is not a fiscal conservative, not a truth-teller on America’s fiscal challenges, and not a man with a plausible plan to renew the country. **

Why should I read an OPINION piece by someone who starts out by calling Rep Ryan a liar, incompetent and unaware of economic issues.

You really think this is compelling? It’s in WaPo which is strike one. I wouldn’t refer you to an opinion piece in World Nut Daily and expect you to take me seriously. Why would I waste time reading something like this?

Representative Ron Wyden (Dem, OR) is also doing his best to distance himself from his collaboration with Ryan on that plan. Of course, I wouldn’t expect die-hard left-wingers to admit that a Democrat worked with Ryan on it. 😉

Romney at a North Carolina campaign event said Ryan worked with a democrat to create bipartisan budget. Romney campaign is not going to let Wyden ignore his contribution

I never thought I’d vote for Obama. Looks like I’ll be doing just that this coming election. 😦

Don’t vote for the guy who wants to restrict our religious freedom. And will bankrupt the country and send us into a catastrophe of unimaginable proportions…

Why don’t you look into Mr. Romney’s plan, rather than making a rash decision based on misinformation and smear campaigns about his VP pick. Rather silly way to make a decision.

I will pray that you will change your mind

God bless.

Comparing this with World Nut Daily is just funny. At least you admit that World Net Daily is nuts, which is good.

Yes:

He’s from Wiscansin

He’s Catholic and seems to be devout

He isn’t a Rockefeller Repub like Romney (despite the fact that everyone here claims Romney is actually conservative ;)) but also not a Tea Party nut, while still being conservative. A good combo.

'nuff said.

NBC is already trying to smear him. “Nobody knows who he is…” I swear NBC makes my skin crawl, switching to FOX real quick. ROMNEY/RYAN 2012!!!
NBC must have a short memory. They forgot he is the guy who came up with that “horrible” budget a little while ago.

Paul Ryan’s world view brings this election front and center as to what kind of nation we are going to be going forward. One still with some empathy for the less fortunate and those in need. Or one that would be willing in such a severe way to balance the budget on the backs of the poor and the sick while continuing to benefit the rich with further tax cuts. I can only say good luck everyone.
One that respects religious freedom and brings more justice to the unborn, and not putting even more debt on future generations (which ends up hurting the poor the most). Or one that increases our debt and infanticide rate.

Hopefully the former. 🙂

World Net Daily, The National Enquirer and such publications are not simply sensationalism and quite frequently have stories no one else will publish that turn out to be right on the money. Can we say Jonathan Edwards who was ignored by the MSM until he was basically caught fleeing Rielle Hunter’s hotel room. So to discount them completely would be arrogant.

But opinion pieces in ANY media are just that, opinions. The piece you linked to was obviously a political hit piece by the opposition. If you come out saying the subject of your article isn’t truthful, knowledgeable or a conservative your cred is gone. But those who are predisposed to the same opinion can hoot and toot “LOOK!!! This guy agrees with me, he must be brilliant.”

I lean far to the Right but I also take various editorials, op eds and articles from my side with a grain of salt. I can distinguish between someone who’s the world’s greatest expert on their own opinion and someone who actually knows of what they speak. That being said, I think Paul Ryan is honest, a strong conservative and very knowlegeable about economic matters. If I had any complaint it’s that he and Romney both have the same strengths and I might have been searching for someone who added a different element of expertise or experience.

That being said, Romney could have picked Mickey Mouse and I’d still vote for him over Obama who I think is the worst president in recent history.

If so, shouldn’t we be concerned about Mormon holding the “highest” ranking office? It certainly does concern me!
More concerning than someone in office who supports the murder of the unborn? 50 million and counting in the US alone since 1973…

Why? Does it concern you more than the prospect of continued infringment on our freedom of religion from the current office holder? Or the propogation of the culture of death?

There is absolutely no justification for not voting for Mr. Romney simply based on his religion

God bless.

Definitely was brought in to please tea party folk!

And, how come no one is concerned about Romney and his faith?

Clarifying Tea Party statement by emphasizing “nut”; he’s rational unlike some.

Because that would be bigoted, narrow minded and irrelevant to his competency to be President.

I’m just saying no one has dared to speak of the Morman faith but now that Ryan is in, I keep hearing about how great it is that he’s Catholic. Why the double standard?

see post 505 for clarification.

It’s not that no one is concerned it’s just that there are bigger problems to worry about. Maybe the choice of having a devout Catholic as his running mate should calm your fears. 🙂
