Pelosi calls 9/11 an incident

If somebody keys your car, that is an incident.

If an international conspiracy kills 3000 Americans and does tremendous damage to New York City and Washington, D.C., that is far more than an “incident”.

9/11 destroyed 16 square blocks of down town Manhattan … made a crater 70 feet deep … killed … mostly vaporized … 3000 people … THREE THOUSAND .
Yes, Monte, I know, because I saw it, and not on TV, either.

You’re trying to make a big deal out of nothing.

Waste of time.

It would be far better if an apology for setting a tone of disrespect was made on your part. No further hurtful comments thank you. The majority of people still grieve over 911 - their loved ones are not with them. Mothers, Fathers, Children, heroic rescuers, are a really BIG DEAL! Its not nothing … the Islamic terrorists that planned the Twin Towers, Flight 93, the Pentagon, and an aborted flight out of Texas are yet to suffer for their acts. Cancer has stricken the rescuers and its continuing to take lives. Spewing deliberate adjectives to cause hurting hearts is not acceptable. “An incident”, “a big deal out of nothing” and “waste of time”. Put an end to verbal abuse.

It is still an incident. Look up the definition. Where does it say anything about an “incident” meaning something small or unimportant?

Your victim complex is strong.

I’m not being abusive. Far from it. I’m just saying that trying to make political capital out of a single, inoffensive word that Monte doesn’t like is a waste of time.

I don’t think I’m “hurting hearts.” What is your standing to make this charge?

I know where I was on September 11, 2001. And I know where I was on February 26, 1993 - I was in the Word Trade Center.

Where were you on 9/11, just out of curiosity?

something that will boost your level of “special” because you say you were nearby
I was. I live here. At that time, just a few blocks from the WTC.
People who were nearby do not belittle the most tragic attack on the USA.
You seem to be calling me a liar. That might be against forum rules. I don’t know. But anyone can be an Internet tough guy, I guess.

If you scroll back and actually read the posts in this thread, rather than just going into rant mode, you’ll see that I certainly did not “belittle” the attack of September 11, 2001. I said that I wasn’t offended by Nancy Pelosi’s use of the word “incident.” You’ll agree, I’m sure, that that doesn’t amount to “belittling” anything, and I’m sure you’ll be happy to retract your accusation.

As to that attack being “the most tragic attack on the USA,” maybe. Perhaps the survivors of Pearl Harbor might feel that the Pearl Harbor attack was up there. Or the survivors of any number of Civil War battles with greater death tolls.

None of which “belittles” the events of September 11, 2001. You seem to be trying to enforce your own brand of political correctness, requiring that people use only certain words, pre-approved by you (and MonteRCMS) to describe that day. I’m a bit surprised, since opposition to that kind of thought policing is something conservatives and Trump supporters decry, often and loudly, but I guess you’ve got your own rules about politically correct speech.

Be specific. What words, exactly, did I use that evidence “disrespect”?

Quote me. Show me. Or retract.

Nobody wants to be wrong - defending Nancy Pelosi’s description of 911 as an “incident” would be a mistake. There is no end to Pelosi’s loony remarks. The sad part is that the Hillary mentality continues to be fed error through the use of “propaganda”. This is the left’s renewed weapon per Obama Inc. Diminish America’s united stand of the suffering of 911, dismiss the subversion of our Justice arm of government, all the Saul Lewinsky garbage that inspire those who wish to destroy America. Hopefully, enough people have learned about Pelosi, Waters, Hillary, Sanders and the latest variety of ignoramous contenders for Democrat office. This is not ranting; this is answering your impressions but that is as far as it goes. I will not answer your demands. I would not and did not “seem” to call you a liar - that accusation is a “flame” and its immature to suggest “anyone can be an Internet tough guy, I guess”. It doesn’t matter in the long run to continue a discussion of what could be the worst enemy attack. It does matter to protect the sacrifice of all who suffered and died, and the loved ones that continue to pay the sacrifice. Maybe you could express your agreement on that thought. Nancy Pelosi is not capable of much at all.

Nobody wants to be wrong
True. And although I’m about as far from infallible as one can get, in this case I’m not wrong.
Hillary mentality
This is the left’s renewed weapon per Obama Inc.
Waters, Hillary, Sanders
ignoramous contenders for Democrat [sic] office
Wow, you really got everything but the kitchen sink in there, didn’t you?
all the Saul Lewinsky garbage that inspire those who wish to destroy America.
I’m guessing you mean Saul Alinsky. Have you read Alinsky? You must have, to have enough understanding to have such strong feelings about his writing.
I would not and did not “seem” to call you a liar
You did.
Maybe you could express your agreement on that thought.
Another demand that I express my thoughts in politically correct, pre-approved language. Sorry, not going to happen.

Right. Unless you call all those treaties and deals and everything else made by previous administrations along with our allies in good faith “disasters” you’re just not American.

Look up the definition of the word “incident.” Of course she was right to call it an incident.
There is no end to Pelosi’s loony remarks.
You think this approach will rescue your failed argument? No way. The argument was about the use of the word “incident.” It was not about “Everything Wrong With Nancy Pelosi” (apologies to Jeremy’s CinemaSins).

Foreign troops trained and infiltrated into the United States and perpetrated an attack, killing 3000 people … more than an “incident”.

Pelosi was wrong in attempting to minimize the enemy attack.

And she realized her error … more than a faux pas … immediately, which is why she attempted to stifle her speech.

You need to get to get to get to get to know Pelosi and her patterns of speech manipulation … and you also need to spend some significant time studying the carnage at the three locations … WTC, Pentagon and Shanksville. Difficult to do from Europe.

Come to the USA … visit the three locations … spend some time appreciating the enormity of the attacks and of the massacres.

Yes, they are not satisfied to malign Pelosi and other Democrats according to the policies with which they disagree. They must malign them in any way they can. It is more than recreational outrage. It is pathological outrage.

Was the Holocaust “an incident”?

No, I didn’t think so.

And neither was 9/11.

Actually, it is somewhat unique to Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters [along with a few others].

Seriously though, you should schedule a visit to NYC to visit the WTC. They did a nice job of fixing the crater without filling in the hole. Visitors can get the whole vista. But, no joke, you have to schedule your visit ahead of time. People who don’t consider it “an incident” regard it with great respect.

I posted a photo of the WTC taken from high up across the street, but cannot find it.
