Pfleger blames conservatives, NRA for troubles
The embattled pastor of St. Sabina Roman Catholic Church told radio show hosts Tavis Smiley and Cornel West this weekend that he would look outside the Catholic Church if offered no other choice but to work at a Catholic high school.

The Rev. Michael Pfleger also said on the “Smiley & West” public radio program that he had been banned from speaking at events in the archdiocese and blamed pressure from conservative Catholics and the National Rifle Association for his most recent clash with Chicago’s Cardinal Francis George.

“I want to try to stay in the Catholic Church,” Pfleger said. “If they say ‘You either take this principalship of [Leo High School] or pastorship there or leave,’ then I’ll have to look outside the church. I believe my calling is to be a pastor. I believe my calling is to be a voice for justice. I believe my calling is to preach the Gospel. In or out of the church, I’m going to continue to do that.”

Why doesn’t this priest just obey the Church? I mean, didn’t he make a vow of obedience when he was ordained? I always thought that all priests made a vow of obedience to the Church when ordained.

Married couples make vows, doesn’t mean there aren’t couples that have problems…
 
So, Leo High School is beneath him? Forming and teaching high school students is as being an unworthy assigment for him?
 
Pfleger needs to blame himself.
He does not adhere to the required teachings of the Catholic Church, and he violates his vow of obedience frequently. He puts his personal beliefs ahead of those of the Church.
It shouldn’t surprise anyone if he leaves the Faith.

CCC " 2089 - … schism is the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him. "
 
Conservatives and the NRA invented the mandatory pastor rotation system???

A little bitta scapegoating, maybe? 😉

But do you really want him forming high school students with his own brand of theology and Catholicism?

Yes, I read that. Yet, doing the same for our young is somehow less? How much better does it come than to try to properly form our young?

Plain and simple, he needs to leave. He needs to make like a horse muffin and “hit the road.” It’s not the ones who leave the priesthood who do the most damage, it’s the ones like him, who are wolves in sheep’s clothing, destroying the faith of our youth, who do the most damage, and need to go!

I’m sure there’s an Anglican parish somewhere that will welcome him with open arms. He can go “be all he can be” over there. We are not called to be tolerant of sin.

If Father Pfleger wants women to be ordained so badly…why not join a church that teaches that it’s ok and actually does it? The ECUSA does this, last I checked their doors were wide open.

FYI, Religious Orders make vows, diocesan priests make a promise of obedience ( and celibacy and to pray the Office)

But yes, he still should respond affirmatively to a posting by his bishop.

On April 11, 2010, Pfleger delivered a 70-minute sermon in which he said the Apostles “had run out on” Jesus. “They had turned their backs on Him. They had left the One they had been with for three years, 24/7, and they ran away from Him when He most needed them. Only John, at the foot of the Cross and the women. Hmm. His preaching technique is so “out there” for a Catholic priest. I can just hear him screaming like a Southern preacher (where all good things must be repeated in 3’s)

Ya well Father… “Could’, should’a, would’a … but it ain’t now and it never will be.”
 
So where does Wayne LaPierre sit during Conference of Catholic Bishops meeting?
 
Obviously this priest doesnt know the CC. I would think that the CC is better off without him. Let him go. His disobedience has been noticed by many and he is leading people against the Church for awhile.
