I’ve lived in Los Angeles all my life, in a residential suburb on the westside, near acres of undeveloped land once owned by the Hughes Aircraft Corp. Growing up, I spent long days hiking and playing in these fields and canyons with my friends, hunting for snakes (which we rarely saw) and lizards (which were plentiful).
