Yeah, but that happened an awfully long time ago and there’s little to suggest that those ideals are still the ones that ‘Planned Parenthood’ support. The early Catholics did lots of horrendous things, and the church has been very corrupt in the past, but that doesn’t mean Catholicism is somehow evil because of this.

Also, this source suggests that she wasn’t a racist or a pro-Nazi:
nyu.edu/projects/sanger/secure/newsletter/articles/sanger-hitler_equation.html

Having said that, I don’t know much about the source. You can take it or leave it. Give me some sources of your own and I’ll be happy to jump aboard the anti-Planned Parenthood band wagon. Well, as long as they’re not from ‘Life Site News’.

I think you’re trying a bit too hard to demonize people who are pro-choice. Generally they just have a rather twisted view of what is alive and what isn’t. I’m assuming the Planned Parenthood people are the same.

So, yeah, some sources on PP being Nazis and racists and stuff, please.
Just because Lifesitenews is a pro life source does not mean that it is not credible

Sanger wrote about Australian Aborigines on page 47 of ‘What every girl should know’

‘It is said that a fish as large as a man has a brain no larger than the kernel of an almond. In all fish and reptiles where there is no great brain development, there is also no conscious sexual control. The lower down in the scale of human development we go the less sexual control we find. It is said that the aboriginal Australian, the lowest known species of the human family, just a step higher than the chimpanzee in brain development, has so little sexual control that police authority alone prevents him from obtaining sexual satisfaction on the streets’

Margaret Sanger started another birth control organization with Henry Pratt Fairchild who wrote ‘The Melting Pot Mistake’ where he accused Jews of diluting American stock. The Melting Pot Mistake, page 212, 1926

In his book ‘Race and Nationality,’ (1947) he accused anti semitism and the holocaust in part on ‘the Jews.’ Fairchild, Race and Nationality, 1947, page 147, but pages 137 - 161

Lothrop Stoddard was on the board directors of Margaret Sanger’s Population Association of America. He wrote a book while on the board called, ‘The Rising Tide of Color Against White World Supremacy’

Stoddard met Hitler

Page 32 of the April 1933 issue says ‘edited by Margaret Sanger.’ She was the editor of the Birth Control Review from 1917 to 1938. Many articles from racist eugenicists wrote columns for the Birth Control Review, and as editor Sanger must of had the final say on those columns being allowed to be published

“One important finding, he said, showed that the frontal cortex area—which governs judgment, decision-making and impulse control—doesn’t fully mature until around age 25”
Then we’d better make sure they have the best information possible to make decisions with.

This guy came in telling us what his daughter called her ‘private part’.

His daughter. Telling it to us strangers.

What education is this? My generation needs to wait for love. Whether youre religious or Atheist. YOU desrerve to be treated with respect and not like a sex object.

The guy that left had a daughter.

Children used to be a blessing, and now they are a burden.I will be walking out tomorrow as well.

You wanna know the best part? (this I heard as I walkedin and sat down) They are gonna give us all jamba juice or starbucks card.
Probably funded by abortion money. No thank you.
I don’t know about Jamba Juice’s politics (have to check that out) but Starbucks is at the top of my list of places to boycott- they are an active supporter of same sex “marriage,” an abomination which it is our duty as Catholics to oppose. And I don’t miss their burned-up, overpriced swill either!

If they are so confident that providing condoms will prevent abortions why don’t they show how much confidence they have in this by shutting down their abortion services?
“Providing condoms?” You think that’s the whole deal? Abort women, hand out condoms and preach promiscuity to teens? First, in this country whether we like it or not, women have the right to decide to abort their pregnancies. And as long as that is the law, Planned Parenthood has no reason at all not to provide that option along with all the other reproductive health services they provide. So, beyond the 3-5% of their services being medical abortions, there is also education - which they do quite well.

Our OP didn’t stop thinking about her emotional reaction and auto-condemnation long enough to wonder why in the talk they label body parts. I happen to know why. It’s because people, even adults but especially teens, even sexually active ones, are too embarrassed to say the word penis or vagina. Our OP couldn’t even spell the second one. So, this results in them not asking questions to get information they need to know. It’s more comfortable if they can say “If Fred leaves at the last second, can I still get pregnant?”

They aren’t dirty words and people who say them aren’t less a lady or gentleman than anyone else. Yet, they are so stigmatized that even adults can’t openly discuss their sex lives, even with their doctors who are often as embarrassed as they are.

Beyond education there are yearly PAP and pelvics, for many women their only health visit during the year, so they also do a general health assessment. There is disease screening, including the breast exams that can lead to the mammogram voucher if needed. Then there is the birth control which amounts to quite a bit more than handing someone a condom.

Do they think they prevent abortions by preventing unwanted pregnancies amongst those most likely to opt for abortion? Yes, they believe that. They believe they prevented over 150,000 last year.

How many did you prevent?

If Planned Parenthood provides even one abortion, they must be opposed by Catholic Christians.

Of course, they have provided and will continue to provide a few more than one…

They don’t provide “healthcare” at all. Contraception is not healthcare and neither is an abortion. I’d ask questions about statistics ie: How many babies do you kill per week? What do you do with their corpses after they are dead? What is the average amount of time it takes to tear a pre-born infant limb from limb and then crush the skull? Does it make a noise? Can the mother-to-be hear the crunch? etc.
In fact they do provide healthcare, unless you believe that disease testing and medical examination aren’t part of healthcare. So is education. We don’t have to “ask questions about statistics” because they are all online right where you could access them if you cared to look at objective information. I’m not too impressed with cheap theatrics and lurid descriptions because they have nothing whatsoever to do with the topic.

Just as Hitler can be said to have done a few good things, the infanticide issue outweighs all else and is a sin that cries to Heaven.

it’s all about the money.
There’s absolutely nothing “about the money.” Every one of the people who work in these non-profit organizations can make WAY more money in private industry. Way. More.

They don’t have profit-sharing and regardless of what you have been told no one gets a paycheck bonus for every abortion they bring in. The fact is, the abortion part is prohibitively expensive and they could operate much more efficiently as a non-profit if they didn’t do them. What ever you believe, these are decent caring people doing the best they can for those in need.

BTW, one of the richest men in the world had guaranteed Planned Parenthood the money to pay for any abortion for any woman who wants one and cannot afford it. And he does. If it was all about the money, they could close down all their other services and just do abortions 24/7. They don’t. That number no one here believes about how much of their service is abortion, that 3-5% number, is correct.

Fight abortion. But stop spreading scandal and demonizing your fellow human beings and sisters and brothers in the Lord.

You remind me so much of Abby Johnson, who used to run the PP clinic up in Bryan, TX. She too, thought that PP was helping women. Then the management started questioning why her numbers of abortions were going DOWN instead of UP.
No, they didn’t. And she didn’t “run the clinic,” she booked appointments. And she was fired for incompetence. But she’s certainly made a lot of money for herself telling this story to anyone who will listen.

Dismembering fetuses in utero is part of what Planned Parenthood doctors do, so it is completely germane to the topic.

All PP has to do to move out of the realm of the satanic is quit performing abortions and start teaching abstinence outside of marriage. Period. Their support of artificial contraception is also contrary to Catholic teaching, so that needs to cease as well. They are more than welcome to continue providing free and low cost pelvic exams, cervical cancer screenings, etc.

Those who cannot maintain pre-marital abstinence need to be willing to step up and be accountable for their actions if pregnancy occurs- this accountability includes carrying a baby to term, and providing for it. This is social justice, and is the only thing that PP should be teaching. Of course, they won’t change, because there is no economic profit in abstinence.

Nothing you say can justify abortionists whose business is to murder an innocent baby in the womb. As Catholics we hold to the truth that nothing is more evil than the sin of infanticide, a sin that cries to Heaven.

Nice try, Julia. I’ve met her, and I know she’s telling the truth. Your defense of Planned Parenthood is despicable.

And those who have been on these forums for a while, as you and I have, know that it’s part of a general pattern of obstinate and defiant opposition to church teachings, despite many patient corrections. Unfortunately, it goes far beyond what typically appears as “cafeteria” Catholicism. In a positive sense, however, it does demonstrate the great tolerance of CAF moderators, God bless them!

Why does that bother you? Okay, if she was in the class it could be a bit embarrassing for her, but otherwise it’s just a cute kid story. How are people supposed to ask questions and learn anything if they can’t even say the name of a body part? So, they give the parts a neutral name, and make it funny to make it okay for everyone to accept that all of them is good. Your reaction to this is illustrates the whole reason it’s necessary.

If you marry and then have to have a pelvic exam and need to ask about vaginal itching, what are you going to say to the doctor if you have this huge emotional reaction to even hearing people talking about a vagina?

They don’t make money from abortions, they get donations to help cover the costs because they are* non-profit.* The education money is usually a government grant, and that’s where the coupons come from. I don’t care if you go or don’t, but you can take the coupons, they are paid for by your taxes.

By the way, very often Planned Parenthood contracts with professional health educators and sponsors them to do these talks, so the people in the room giving the talks often don’t actually work for Planned Parenthood directly.

I think you should “Google” the word “abortion” in an image search. Because a picture is worth a thousand words. I used to think abortion was no big deal until I saw what it looks like.

Just as Hitler can be said to have done a few good things, the infanticide issue outweighs all else and is a sin that cries to Heaven.
Srsly? Hitler?

I was responding to someone who mistakenly said they did not do healthcare. This is incorrect.

No, you don’t know that, you simply believed her. People meet con artists all the time and believe what they say. That’s how they get your money. The egregious and false attacks on the people who work for Planned Parenthood is what is despicable and unChristian in my opinion. The false information, the insistence on calling it a for-profit business when it is not, everyone deciding it’s okay to hate - it’s not okay, it’s never okay, it will never be okay to hate.

NO ONE wants to discuss anything useful to do about the issue of abortion being legal,. Everyone wants to go on and on in threads demonizing other humans, hating all together in a group, making themselves believe their hate serves God.

You can’t serve God and Satan, and hate and lies and turning others into less than human beings only serves The Liar.

One of the finest Christians I know works for Planned Parenthood. And until you can accept that people who are decent and caring and love God can also be part of something you object to, then you just create a big black hole to drag each other into.

What I am defending is the truth.

I wouldn’t be able to work in a place that murders children.

It matters because I was not the only one uncomfortable. It’s not a cute story, these people were grown adults talking about ‘street’ names for a vagina and a penis. They can’t even respect their own daughter.

Does it surprise you that I spelled it out?

They should have taken in consideration that not everyone wanted to hear this ‘educational’ presentation. Some people like myself, like to have my privacy respected. believe it or not. I had NO idea what I was in for since I have never run into these people. The minute they openned their mouths the woman just started talking about how she could not eat a waffle with blueberries the same after hearing about “blue waffle” and was laughing about it. Their presentation I am sure ended up being a joke, because It sure started as one.

I didn’t post this to argue with anyone, as previously stated, merely speaking about my experience. Just ridiculous how they were squeezed in to a class of young teenagers looking to get a job and some graduate highschool/GED.

Nothing you say will change my mind. This was a ‘professional environment’, about how to dress, act at an interview, our college, jobs we like. We were not notified this would happen.

I am not condemning these people, as angry as I was I ducked my head and prayed for them and prayed to get out. I hope they open their eyes someday.

The supervisors of the program apologized and are going to take into consideration there are others kids like me and fix this program.

Stop attacking me, you are not going to change my stance.

Being a devout Christian does not mean you are perfect. You still make mistakes.

What’s wrong with not wanting to talk about your private parts? Is there a law that says we must be open? People who like some privacy still exist. And it’s different asking a DOCTOR then some ‘professionals’ I encountered today
