We are there to find JOBS.
And the Job workshop leader said “Presentation from Planned Parenthood”

“He who denies that human life begins with conception does not need to contend with religion, but science. To deny this certainty of biology is not to express a lack of faith, but a lack of basic knowledge of human genetics, something that is even known by the general public.” ~ Ecuadorian Federation of Societies of Gynecology and Obstetrics , April 17, 2008

Good for you, Maria. Those who faithfully follow the teachings of the Magisterium and understand that support for Planned Parenthood is fundamentally wrong, and that no Christian can knowingly support them- applaud your courage. Catholic Answers Forums has sponsored publication of excellent works on the “non-negotiables” of Catholic moral teaching, and abortion is at the top of the list. Same sex “marriage” is also anathema to the faith. It sounds like you are already well-formed and aware of these teachings, and I pray that you get through this ordeal that has been imposed on you by these secularists at your school with a minimum of further distress. They have no right to force you to listen to Planned Parenthood representatives, certainly not as part of a workshop that is about jobs. It is scandalous, but it seems that those who advance the agendas of atheism, secularism, homosexualism and abortionism (and they do seem to go together) have no shame or boundaries…:highprayer:
And: Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

FUNNY THING IS, this is not at a school! This is at a county place for youth to look for Jobs!
So all these teenagers know their biology! They’ve taken life science, or sex ed in High School I am sure. I took life science as a sophmore I believe.

Now their bringing it here where youth look for jobs. Niiice.

It matters because I was not the only one uncomfortable. It’s not a cute story, these people were grown adults talking about ‘street’ names for a vagina and a penis. They can’t even respect their own daughter.

Does it surprise you that I spelled it out?

They should have taken in consideration that not everyone wanted to hear this ‘educational’ presentation. Some people like myself, like to have my privacy respected.
Your privacy is not at issue, though, is it? No one was telling a story about you or asking you to reveal anything personal. What you are judging is their way of getting past the language so they can transmit the information. The story might just be a standard one from a guide and not even be about their child. They just use that to make a connection with their audience.
Just ridiculous how they were squeezed in to a class of young teenagers looking to get a job and some graduate highschool/GED.
Well, this is what I was wondering about. If some needed a GED, it’s possible that the state has a sex education requirement they were fulfilling. Your needs were respected as no one made you stay in the room. So my concern for you is not to change your mind, but figure out why this was such an emotionally-charged thing for you. And I don’t have to know why because your personal life is also not my business. But I think it might be important for you to know why.
Stop attacking me, you are not going to change my stance.
I’m not attacking you at all and I never have. I think you did a good job taking care of yourself in this matter. I also want you to love all parts of yourself as God made you including your sexual feelings. I agree this should have been on a syllabus handed out at the beginning so you knew what to expect.

I think you should “Google” the word “abortion” in an image search. Because a picture is worth a thousand words. I used to think abortion was no big deal until I saw what it looks like.
She would still defend Planned Parenthood. I think she works for them.

They have no right to force you to listen to Planned Parenthood representatives, it is appalling that they insert this into a workshop that is about jobs. It is scandalous, but it seems that those who advance the agendas of atheism, secularism, homosexualism and abortionism (and they do seem to go together) have no shame or boundaries.

I have no hard feelings with you. I apologize if i snapped, picturing aborted beings doesn’t give me the best feeling in the world. And yes, they actually were asking private questions, saying no one knows, it’s confidential, we wont tell anyone. Their ‘handouts’ had many of them.

If I get one tomorrow I’ll post some questions from it. Either way they were unprofessional and treated the human body and sexuality as a joke, if it is to be talked about, then in a serious matter. Not wee wees, muffin, waffle, and whatever other crud they were listing on the white board.

Do I get along with people who object everything I believe? Yes. Atheist friends? Yes.
When it comes to things that are morally wrong, Yes, I will disagree with them, like I have in the past. But most of the time they don’t even know themselves what is going on, invincible ignorance I guess.

I just can’t picture someone who is devout to be for something horrible. Taking the life of an innocent, playing g-d.

Whatever you did for the least of these, you did to me.

Look what humanity is doing to the ‘least of these’

No, you don’t know that, you simply believed her. People meet con artists all the time and believe what they say. That’s how they get your money. The egregious and false attacks on the people who work for Planned Parenthood is what is despicable and unChristian in my opinion. The false information, the insistence on calling it a for-profit business when it is not, everyone deciding it’s okay to hate - it’s not okay, it’s never okay, it will never be okay to hate.

NO ONE wants to discuss anything useful to do about the issue of abortion being legal,. Everyone wants to go on and on in threads demonizing other humans, hating all together in a group, making themselves believe their hate serves God.

You can’t serve God and Satan, and hate and lies and turning others into less than human beings only serves The Liar.

One of the finest Christians I know works for Planned Parenthood. And until you can accept that people who are decent and caring and love God can also be part of something you object to, then you just create a big black hole to drag each other into.

What I am defending is the truth.
Sorry, a “Christian” who works in a place where children are murdered is not my idea of “the finest.” Decent, caring people who love God cannot in good conscience work for a place where children are murdered in their mother’s wombs day after day after day, regardless of whether the government says it’s legal. It’s not MORAL. It’s not Christian.

And your defense of Planned Parenthood is despicable. Horrifying.

Here, on a Catholic website. You should be ashamed.

:dts:

In fact, it is anti-Christian, you are absolutely right- it aids the agenda of evil in the world. What would the Pope, his cardinals and bishops say about publicly supporting, much less working for PP?

Their agenda and methods are disgusting and puerile. And no one has the right to patronize you or trivialize your concern, which is grounded in your obviously deep faith, whether you are 8 or 18 or 80.

I feel the need to clarify this, I am not putting myself on a pedestal. I am a wretch, I sin. I’m not saint. But I am glad i walked out, I am glad they will now take into consideration the people who do not want to partake, and maybe schedule whatever they want at their hours, and not during our job workshop.

I don’t think anybody thought you were. You did what you needed to do for yourself and it sounds like you effected change for good. Nice job.

Since Abby Johnson was slandered on this thread, I invited her to come here and respond to you, Julia.

Who is Abby Johnson?
She was the director of the Planned Parenthood in Bryan Texas. She thought she was helping women, but when PP management started telling her that her clinic was doing too FEW abortions, she began to question the organization’s true motives. Then she assisted at an abortion and truly saw the horror that is an abortion. She walked out and came over to the pro-life side, and like Norma McCorvey, converted to Catholicism.

Unplanned

*A compelling story of crisis and change, Unplanned is also a reminder of how grace finds us in unlikely places, and how we can all reach out with love to those who stand on opposing sides.
Abby Johnson holds a B.S. in psychology from Texas A&M University and an M.A. in counseling from Sam Houston State University. She was hired by Planned Parenthood in 2005 and progressed to the position of community services director and health educator, where she served as liaison between the community and Planned Parenthood as media correspondent. Later promoted to health center director, Johnson ran both the family planning and abortion programs. In 2009 she left Planned Parenthood and joined the local Coalition for Life as a volunteer. She continues her volunteer activities and now works on projects with the national 40 Days for Life campaign. She and her husband, Doug, have a young daughter and live in Texas. *

I’m doing some work readiness workshop, and Planned Parenthood (for some reason) is going to make a presentation to me and about 7 other teens.

My face went from a smile, to just… Anger. I just went cold. I don’t want to hear their ****. I told the workshop advisor I was strictly pro life, he allowed me to step out, or just sit and tune out.
:banghead::crying:

I have to resist the urge to tell them anything. I hope they don’t show.

Thinking about all the babies that have been aborted is fueling anger.

Please pray for me and others here

PS. The bleeped out word is not even a curse word,
Yes, I will pray for you. You can also think of these things as an opportunity to peek inside the enemy camp. Once you listen to a PP presentation, you see how they use all the buzzwords to promote their agenda. The baby is called “the byproduct of conception”!!!

They also are very strong in public about not promoting abortion. It is amazing what a disparity there is between the public and private faces.

No woman has the right to an abortion. It is, in fact, outlawed in the constitution. Under murder. Unfortunately, women have been given the means to abortion.

Just replying to something I saw here.

Haha, oh dear. I don’t think you understand what atheism is. 🤷 It doesn’t really have an agenda, and even if it did I don’t see how pushing the acceptance of abortion or homosexuality is in anyway pushing disbelief in gods.

Abortion and so-called same-sex “marriage” are pleasing to Satan because they are in direct rebellion to God’s most basic plan for man and woman which is to marry and procreate. In addition, abortion goes against God’s commandment not to murder. Therefore, whether one admits it or not, by doing these things or supporting others doing them they are rejecting God. I would even go so far to say that these things represent the ultimate way to reject God since nothing else could be more offensive to him.

Wow, that’s quite a revision to your first reply. You said,

“Haha, oh dear. If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest person in the world.”
