Planned Parenthood leaves federal program

I live in one of those states.

My state is blue, but my county is reddish.

I remember that the third party votes and the write in votes last election in my county were in the thousands. The presidential election before that they were about 300.

But, my US Rep normally wins re-election by 75% or more of the vote. Last election it was about 54%.

And, I would like to remind people that Trump praised PP during the campaign. He claimed that he received thousands of letters from PP patients that appreciated his services.

He campaigned on immigration, basically.

I researched his prolife background. No support for NY right to life, or any crisis pregnancy centers. No public words of support.

I wrote in the Solidarity party candidate.

I could have voted for Mickey Mouse and the outcome would have been the same.

So let’s not celebrate any movement at all? So we don’t praise God for a move in the right direction?
but we can elect a Congress of people who believe in life from conception til natural death!
By voting to continue to keep pro-abortion democrats in office?

Your hatred of all things Trump and this administration is appears to be causing this disconnect. For your postings it is easy to see you are more liberal politically than many of us. From your postings it is easy to see your disdain for the Trump administration. From your postings it is easy to see your complacency with many liberal concepts just because they come from the liberal side.

What would your response be to a liberal congress who reduced funding of PP by 10%? From your posting history I would make an informed guess you would be celebrating the move in the right direction.

It is amusing when I express over and over my membership in neither the Democrat nor Republican party that folks want to follow me around and screech “Liberal Democrat!!”

I will continue to work until I cannot work any more to elect people who believe in respecting human life from conception until natural death. Every life, every person.

Are you Catholic?

My profile is public, I am an adult convert and I am very active in the Church. My beliefs about life are the beliefs of my Holy Mother Church. Conception until natural death.

A few years ago, the Senate DEMOCRATS (as always) blocked a vote to defund Planned Parenthood… Voting yes to defund Planned Parenthood were only 2 (TWO!!) Democrats and 51 Republicans. Voting no were 42 Democrats, two Republicans, and two Independents. Government 101: you need 60 votes in the Senate to avoid a filibuster.

President Trump might be the most actively pro-life President in American history.
Anyone care to challenge me on that?

I am grateful for this positive development. It might be a small step towards completely defunding them but it’s a step nonetheless and I’m grateful for it.

Sweeping accusation there. I will ask that you remember we are not to make personal insults here on this forum.

Absolutely, how the Democrats and indeed, some Republicans too, can support such evil, I have no idea.

Pretty much so. Times change, I"m not so sure Planned Parenthood was an issue in the days of Reagan and then, Bush 41; but it certainly is an issue now.

Back in Reagan’s day, the scenario may have been different. I know they were trying to get a pro-lifer on the SCOTUS and Ted Kennedy and Biden fought it tooth and nail.

Which is a shame, Teddy was indeed, somewhat pro-life at one point, maybe Biden too.

It’s not an insult if it is the truth. So, you think that you’re looking at this development, positively?

Does the Church teach you to be negative about everything?
This is your accusation of me. Kindly retract and apologize.
When you retract and apologize for putting a downer on this thread.

Last time, personal insults, name calling are contrary to forum rules.

There is no teaching in Holy Mother Church that we must be Republicans nor that we must support the Republican party, neither are Catholics required to be Democrats or to support the Democratic party. My statements are in no way contrary to the Church, the Church condemns direct abortion. As a Catholic, I am not required to pretend happiness about those who permit direct abortion, even one direct abortion.

What are you talking about? So far as I can see, all who have commented on this thread are against abortion. This thread is celebrating the fact that the largest abortion provider is being nailed, again. This thread is celebrating the successes we have had since Trump came into office.

And you are continually downplaying every positive thing that anyone brings to the discussion.
As a Catholic, I am not required to pretend happiness about those who permit direct abortion, even one direct abortion.
No. But more than one of us has expressed surprise that you are not happy that direct abortion providers have lost some funding.

As you will not apologize for personal attack, I am no longer interacting with you.

Yes, Victoria, I agree that Ronald Reagan was a great President. You are correct that things are different now, especially the brazen pro-choice celebrities, and the hate directed at vocal pro-lifers.
While I’m a little bothered, sometimes, by some of President Trump’s name-calling, I like his refusal to back down (and his courage to double-down) against a media that dishonestly calls him “Hitler” and “racist” with no facts to back it up.
Not too many people could take all the arrows thrown at Trump and stay faithful to his pro-life, pro-America, and pro-religious liberty agenda.
