What they are doing is legal but distasteful to people who were not aware of the practice. It also brings home how abortions are much more a business revenue stream than an altruistic service for empowering women. The clinic charges for the abortion and then rakes in cash on the recycling. It helps explain why PP really doesn’t want to show ultrasounds that might tip a potential revenue stream to keep their baby. Not a peep out of CNN, ABC, NBC, AP, (other than Fox). So disappointing.
There are similarities with the blood business where the pint you donate for a cookie sells for $200 to $600. When my local blood bank was calling x5 a day to schedule my next ‘donation’, their marketing tactics made it clear serious money was being made. While I like to help with blood, I resent being a free cash cow when the hospitals are charging the patient thousands.
