Wise parents know that their kids who are sexually active, isn`t going to change any time soon, so we must suggest the use of condoms before lives are really destroyed
Wise parents know where their kids are all the time.
I suggest to you that
LAZY parents might know their kids are sexually active and might suggest for them to use a condom, rather than do the really hard work of actual PARENTING.

I have seen some of the best parents kids get involved with sexual activity
. They weren`t happy with it but they had to work with it, & there is NO way U can Know every move your child makes, so give them condoms so they dont conceive & the child ends up aborted or adopted out & all the many other problems associated with teen sex.A lot of teens are ingrates & have no respect for their parents wishes

No way. Condoms give the ILLUSION that there is such a thing as safe sex, that you can have sex without consequences.

. They’re smart enough to know how a baby is made, however that does mean they care. Teens are they type of people that go ahead and do the stupid thing now and deal with the consequences later. They don’t think about to taking precautions. You’re right that a lot of teens are ingrates, so what makes you think they are all going to use the condom when the time comes? Condoms are easy to get a hold in most cities yet I don’t see abortion rates going down much.

They are gonna do it anyway, so give them at least something half or more effective againt disease or pregnancy

Plus the babies born out of wedlock is about 60%, plus the thousands & thousands of abortions performed

That is a lie from the enemy. I am doing what I can to preserve the original innocence of my children’s youth. “They are gonna do it anyway” isn’t true for a great percentage of kids raised in godly Catholic homes.

Unchaste kids are “gonna do it.”

A kid isn’t “gonna do it” if they are always with their family. Or has made a personal vow of chastity or remaining a virgin until he or she marries.

I didn’t “do it.” 🤷
I have many many friends who also didn’t “do it.”🤷

As a single Catholic parent, I am still not “doing it.” And I expect the same from my kids.

Okay, here’s the part that I find very confusing.

Where are these best parents when their children are having sex?

Parenting is a full-time responsibility.

Even the very best of parents can’t watch a 16 year old 24/7.

And to be realistic, many a child has greatly dissapointed their parents. You only know what yourself is doing, Yes we want our kids to be chaste, but a lot of times it dont work out that way, it`s not a lie, its reality

It takes nanno seconds for kids to have sex parents cannot monitor every single minute of the day in their kids life, be real. A lot of pregnancies take place right in the Childs home when the parents are working , shopping etc

Which means they aren’t watching their children. Instead of leaving your young boy at home alone while you are at work, how about making sure he is with someone responsible? How about taking your child with you when you go shopping? How about making sure he is hanging around other kids that have families that believe what you believe? There are many things you can do to help keep your child chaste. There is no reason to just throw in the towel. As a parent it is my job to make sure my child grows up with values and morals.

And sex takes more than “nanno seconds.” Unless the boy calls a hooker, it will take longer than that.

That is the reason that my husband and I decided one of us would be home with our child. Our son would not come home to an empty house in the afternoons, not be “left to his own devices” when everyone’s parents were busy at work.

Was it the right choice? In the economy now, when I was laid off a year ago, DH has had a horrible time finding a job (He is a talented, degreed professional) - explaining why he was a SAHD for 10 years has got him some . The upside, we have raised a young man of integrity who is strong and intelligent and talented.

And, yep, we always knew where our son was.

I also believe that boys especially should be involved in some type of afterschool sport…it gets the energy out, teaches them discipline, and keeps them out of trouble. It’s important in many ways for them–builds lasting friendships too…I believe it has helped our son to grow in confidence, and has built integrity. I don’t believe in kids being home alone with ‘idle’ hands, as they say.

I totally agree. One of my sons made the team. The other one didn’t. 😦
So the sad thing is, not everyone makes the team.

For my son who worked so hard and was so dedicated in training to make the team, it paid off…And I always know where he is.

I’m not too sure what to believe. I think trust is important though. If a parent can truly trust a child and know what’s going on in their life, there should be no problems.

Thank you kage_ar. I knew it was possible. 👍 Now you have a son that you trust to be able to stay at home and not mess around.

THAT is what PARENTING is all about!!! We aren’t done just because they are TEENAGERS!!!

Little by little they show you they can be trusted. Since I’m the original poster of this thread, I can say that at this point…my son isn’t ready to be trusted to make mature, adult choices. He still needs parental authority and direction and supervision…and discipline.

When he’s an adult, he’ll be able to make his own decisions. There is a lot of training that has to go on between now and then. There is still like 8 years to go before he even has a fully developed brain that can make moral choices, rather than choices based on his natural drives. That’s why we have to know where are kids are and what they are doing—all the time.

Yeah I believe it’s in their mid 20’s that the brain usually becomes fully developed. Even then so it can take several years after that to use it properly.

I’m not a parent; least I shouldn’t be yet. 😉 However, despite what many say here about how hard it is to raise their tots and young kids, I think the hardest part about being a parent is watching your children leave the nest and wondering if you gave them all they needed to be successful in life.

I can’t agree more with this statement. I think that almost all of guys who play sports all four years in high school tend to display the aforementioned traits whatevergirl listed. I know it helped me make good decisions throughout my childhood and make strong lasting friendships (which I still maintain today). I played for my middle school and HS soccer team’s growing up every year. I also played baseball for many years, but not for the length that I played soccer. Being dedicated and focused on success in sports absolutely contributed to keeping me out of trouble.

Both my parents worked long hours when I was in middle school and high school, but I was involved in some sort of constructive activity every day of the week that I didn’t have the free time to get into trouble. When I would get home in the evenings I would cook dinner (if needed) and then start my hours of homework. When kids are bored with nothing to do and no supervision they tend to create trouble.
