Please pray for me that I might get past this most trying time. After much consideration, reading, and prayer I allowed myself to give my heart to the man that I love so very deeply. He was not Catholic, but believed, as do I, about the sanctity of marriage and that sexual actions should only take place within marriage between man and wife. We never had sex, nor did we even try for it was our deepest desire to please God in all we did and we believed we could do that together. I love him more than I could ever express in action or words.
Today he decided to end it because of his career. In the depths of his heart, he confessed to me that his career is more important to him than love. For me though, love easily trumps anything on this earth and it has always been this way… I just want love. He said to me that because we diverge at this point, he believes that we cannot be together and we’ll only end up getting hurt if we continue down this road and so he must end it.
I still love him with all the love that I can ever possibly give to another human and I have been in shambles all day long. I really don’t know what to do right now, I can’t even think.
Please, my fellow CAF members, pray for me. Pray that I might have clear sight to move forward from this point so that I can please God with all I am.
Pray for me that I might find comfort this night as I fall asleep.
Pray that I will not find loneliness again.
Please pray for me that, if God wills, I might eventually find someone who loves our Lord over all things, but who also loves me. Someone who I can love, give my heart to, and have a relationship with in a manner that is pleasing God. I understand from reading on CAF and other Catholic resources that many Catholics don’t believe such a loving relationship can take place between two gay men without sex occurring, but I can tell you that it is possible… Please, I beg you, believe this and pray for me that I might find someone.
Above all though, pray that my life as a gay man will always come second to my love for Christ and His Kingdom. That my life may be an example of how to live a holy life as a Catholic with SSA rather than a gay man trying to conform his entire life and reconcile his faith around and with the word ‘gay’.
Please pray for me, my brothers and sisters.
