Thank you all for your continued prayers and words of encouragement!
John left this morning to go back to work. It was hard to watch him go, but I am glad he came home. The past two weeks while he was home started a little rough but ended with both of us really connecting with one another. I know this is because of the many prayers that you all have offered for us and it is the work of the Lord. I know he has answered my prayers in that John finally got the help that he needed and I pray that John will continue to do so. There is such a taboo with mental health, but I told him it is like someone who has high blood pressure, they can’t just go off their medication, it’s something that they have to deal with everyday. He told me last night that he is glad he came home, he needed to be with family and needed time away from the job. He also told me that he is having second thoughts about filing for divorce, he misses me and realizes how much I do to keep things going at home. I am not going to get my hopes up too high, I will just continue to pray that the Lord will show me the way. I am also going to continue to find myself and take care of myself.
I went to my sister’s for Christmas Day and told them about the divorce ( this was before John told me he was having second thoughts). They were suppportive and told me that I was stronger than either one of them would be, they would have thrown John to the curb. I told them that it isn’t in my nature to just give up and that I didn’t want them to hate John just because of this. They realize that I still love him and that it is hard and they will stand behind whatever decision I make.
I don’t know what is in store for John and I, but I am willing to go down whatever path the Lord has chosen for me and for John. I also realize that free will still plays a role in all of this, which like rebusrms said earlier in a posting, it can suck. I continue to draw strength from all of you and will be keeping all of you in my prayers especially for those who are in similiar situations. May the Lord continue to bless all of you!
