Thank you all for your continued prayers and words of encouragement!

John left this morning to go back to work. It was hard to watch him go, but I am glad he came home. The past two weeks while he was home started a little rough but ended with both of us really connecting with one another. I know this is because of the many prayers that you all have offered for us and it is the work of the Lord. I know he has answered my prayers in that John finally got the help that he needed and I pray that John will continue to do so. There is such a taboo with mental health, but I told him it is like someone who has high blood pressure, they can’t just go off their medication, it’s something that they have to deal with everyday. He told me last night that he is glad he came home, he needed to be with family and needed time away from the job. He also told me that he is having second thoughts about filing for divorce, he misses me and realizes how much I do to keep things going at home. I am not going to get my hopes up too high, I will just continue to pray that the Lord will show me the way. I am also going to continue to find myself and take care of myself.

I went to my sister’s for Christmas Day and told them about the divorce ( this was before John told me he was having second thoughts). They were suppportive and told me that I was stronger than either one of them would be, they would have thrown John to the curb. I told them that it isn’t in my nature to just give up and that I didn’t want them to hate John just because of this. They realize that I still love him and that it is hard and they will stand behind whatever decision I make.

I don’t know what is in store for John and I, but I am willing to go down whatever path the Lord has chosen for me and for John. I also realize that free will still plays a role in all of this, which like rebusrms said earlier in a posting, it can suck. I continue to draw strength from all of you and will be keeping all of you in my prayers especially for those who are in similiar situations. May the Lord continue to bless all of you!

Continue to ask “Notre dame du Liban” to stay with you, and share us prayer for you Cassie.

That’s good news. Still praying for you and John, Cassie! (And for your mother too…hope she’s recovered well.)
Christmas Blessings… 😉

Good to hear from you, Cassie 🙂

Dear Jesus Please bless Cassie and her husband, especially as he returns to work. Fill their hearts with ever greater faith, hope and love. Sustain them with your love and pour out your Holy Spirit upon them. Thank you so much for graces already granted. May your light illuminate their hearts and may you unite them and draw them ever closer to you.
Amen

“Praise be to God in the highest heavens! He is my strength, He is the salvation of my soul, He is my portion forever. In Him I hope, in Him I trust and I will fear no evil” (Padre Pio)

I love your attitude. You are such an example to the rest of us. Please continue to encourage John to stay with metal health treatment whether or not he has second thoughts or not. There is nothing wrong with believing in a chance that the marriage will continue. I agree that you shouldn’t get your hopes up either. Like you said he has free will. I am so glad to hear that you survived the holidays staying strong. For what its worth I am real proud of you. Lesser people would of let their circumstances tear the, down. That is why I keep telling you how strong you are. You are constantly in my prayers and John and his mental health are very much in my prayers. Just remember you are loved by me and everyone else on these boards

Hi Cassie,
Continue to pray the St.Rita Novena. She is the patron saint of impossible causes and problems in marriage. She knows the father well ,and will relay your message…Glad to hear some steps were taken in the right direction for you and John…even if it was a baby step, it counts…Stand strong for Christ is your Rock! Warmly, sis in christ , LynneMarie

Dear Cassie … Still you are in my prayers. May god bless you and your husband.

Thank you Tarek Chidiac, nahbios, Kirsty33, rebusrms, wina, Simon X, nana3 and LynneMarie for your continued prayers!

My mother is doing well and was able to be at my sister’s for Christmas. She gets around in her wheelchair pretty good, but can’t wait until she is able to use a walker and move around.

John made it out to the job without incident. I have my session with the therapist tomorrow and John thinks that they will tell me to get rid of him. I told him that the session is for me and about me and that I may or may not tell him what goes on. I think he feels guilty that I am going to a therapist to begin with, but understands that I need to talk to someone that isn’t a friend or a relative. I am a little nervous about going too, but I need to for my own health and to continue to work on myself.

I know that the many prayers that have been offered have been heard. I have not felt as close to God before this, but do now. I know that I am not alone and that if I continue to trust in the Lord, He will not let me down.

I continue to pray for John and encourage him to keep with his medications. I do not have my crying sessions as often as I use to due to the fact that I have accepted that God is leading me and that I trust in Him. I continue to have hope and faith that our marriage can be saved and that John will return to the Church. Thank you again my friends for your continued prayers, they mean so much to me!

please don’t be afraid of going to a therapist; its not that bad. My advice is to be open and willing to share and dig deep into yourself. Sure that will not occur all in the first session. You would need to build a relationship with the therapist to a point where you trust them. A little song came to mind reading your last post, " Trust in the Lord always and again I say rejoice."

Hang in there Cassie. Keeping you and John in my daily prayers. Appreciate your updates. God Bless and Take Care!

Keeping you and John in my prayers
Thanks for your your updates. God Bless .

St. Monica you brought my husband back to reality…can you do they same here? Please hear our prayers.

Prayers for your husband and your marriage. Prayers for strength from God for you to endure. Bless you for hanging in there even though its tough. Prayers to St. Monica for you and him.

Thank you for the updates, Cassie. My heart lifts to hear of your increased hope! I will continue to pray for you and for John. And, by the way, don’t worry about the therapist - as for me, I went to a nurse for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for a few years during my adolescence and have seen a few counsellors since. It helps to get things off your chest. Of course, it is very important to remember that it is all God’s loving Grace. God Bless and a happy and peaceful to you, to John, and to your loved ones.

Thanks for the updates Cassie 🙂

Dear Lord
Thank you for all the ways you have been working in Cassie & John’s lives. Thank you for Cassie’s increased hope in you. Please be with Cassie as she visits the therapist, calm her fears and fill her with your presence. Bless them both Lord, pour out your saving grace upon them that they may live to do your will. Strengthen them in holiness and love. Guide their way and draw them ever closer to you and to each other. Grant them peace and joy and an ever greater faith and trust in you.

Amen

Cassie,

I am still praying for you, your husband and your marriage. I am glad to hear that John is getting the help that he needs. I pray that God speaks to him and he realizes what a wonderful, forgiving and patient wife he has at home waiting for him. Most of all I pray that God’s will be done. God bless you, Cassie.
