Thorolfr, I did not suggest that we should have the death penalty for homosexuality, but I would be in favor of making it illegal. We could certainly shutdown homosexual bars, nightclubs and bathhouses.

Yes…it sort of reminds you of a certain “Christian” country that has never elected a woman as head of state…and whose opponent and his supporters are also VERY anti gay and has big money behind him also…so hopefully no woman will become head of state and or government in the for see able future…now what Christian country could that be…hmmm

Great Britain…nope
Canada…nope
New Zealand…nope
Australia…nope
much of South America…nope.
much of Europe…nope

So, the measure of how “Christian” a country is depends on whether or not it has elected a female head of state? If so, then obviously Pakistan is a “Christian” country, and Vatican City is not.

Women in America have fought for and won rights that have far surpassed anything that women have had for the whole of human history.
Whether or not a woman has been elected to POTUS does nothing to negate or change that in any way.
Rather than focusing on genitalia, it would be far better for people to focus on character. It is hardly a crowning historic moment to elect a dud to the office as first female president.

In making homosexuality illegal, what kinds of penalties would you suggest? Should homosexuals be put in jail? On what legal basis would you shutdown homosexual bars and nightclubs? Wouldn’t shutting down gay bars and nightclubs violate the right of LGBT people to assemble and to associate with with others like themselves which is protected under the Constitution?

Apparently none of the club attendees was carrying a gun.
In Florida it’s against the law to carry in an establishment that serves alcohol which probably makes sense. Maybe they could let designated drivers carry?

Most clubs like this hire bouncers for minor skirmishes also instead of armed security. It might have made a difference. But these are band aids on the bigger problem.

That is spot on. It is an embarrassment as far as I am concerned to hold Hillary Clinton up as some sort of female role model or historic figure. Actually pushes us back about 50 years. Give me Katharine Hepburn over that any day of the week. Among many many others, the list is endless. But I have noticed how quickly the “historic woman” thing dropped, right - most of the media figures I saw trying to push it looked visibly uncomfortable. The whole thing was wilting from the start.

Hillary Clinton may be a lot of things but she is hardly a dud. (Some have called her a dude.) But being a woman or a man is more than a matter of genitalia, is it not? Gender incorporates a host of personality differences, not to mention differences in life experience.

Start with HillaryCare failure. Fired from Watergate.

And then providing cover for Bill’s “bimbo eruptions”.

Bring it up to $145 million kickback from Russia for Uranium.

And then turning Libya over to ISIS.

How much did she collect from Saudi Arabia and other gay-hostile regimes.

Different life experience. 😉

**excerpt:

Clinton Foundation officials used an obscure New York state charity board filing to disclose that the non-profit received nearly $17.7 million in donations from foreign governments while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned. The specific foreign governments were not identified in the document, entitled “Exhibit A.”

Oh, yeah … and she let the Russians hack her unsecured bathroom server … and get the top secret names of our secret CIA agents.

Check out the latest in Wikileaks.

Orlando Shooter on Facebook: Now ‘Taste’ ISIS 'Vengeance’

The same morning Omar Mateen killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, he posted on Facebook his allegiance to ISIS, ordered America and Russia to “stop bombing” the terror group and warned of attacks to come, FBI officials said.

“You kill innocent women and children by doing us airstrikes…now taste the Islamic state vengeance [sic],” Mateen posted, according officials in the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division. “In the next few days you will see attacks from the Islamic State [ISIS] in the usa.”

Her character is in question as she has an FBI investigation on-going. Would you hire someone to run your own company who has a criminal investigation as Hillary? I think many would say yes to avoid discrimination but the truth is they wouldn’t.

Actually Obama and Bernie are right about the black box issue also with ex offenders.

The moral-ethical qualities are a questionable distinction today with Hillary?

Truth is many are not so quick to overlook this. But hey, if your OK with that, I’m OK with your thinking. 🙂

My understanding was that an armed off-duty police officer was working as security.

Really, did he have any impact? See, I think this is the way to go anyway, but I also realize its a cost effective point where clubs simply don’t want to pay the off duty police.

The story I read said that he responded when he heard shots fired and immediately called for back up. The guard was at the front door and by the time he got to where the shooter was it seems he had already shot quite a few people and retreated to the bathrooms with hostages. The reporting is still pretty muddy. For example, I don’t see how the guy got past a cop at the door with a long gun. I also read a report that the police believe some of the casualties may have been hit by friendly fire in the shoot out. Still a lot we don’t know.

Interesting, theres a lot of facts still to come. These places have usually prefered to hire the local jocks and what not. You know 6’5 tackles and guards and body builders. Its works I suppose to a degree but they come with a different skill set, but are probably half the price per hour.

He probably wasn’t at the door for whatever reason. Could be part of the reason the guy cased the place many times also, thats how to find the weakness.
