Thank God. Can you imagine shooting a gun in a dark, crowded club after having a few drinks?
Similar reasoning as to why the airline pilots didn’t carry guns aboard the airliners that got hijacked on September 11, 2001.

Or soldiers at Fort Hood.

Or the recruiters in Chatanooga.

Or the sailors in Yemen aboard the U.S.S. Cole … [the deck watch had .50 cal machine guns and could have pulverized the terrorists.]

“hey, you just don’t know who you can trust.”]

So we are just better off trusting people who show up with guns to kill our people … rather than allowing our people to defend themselves.

[Hey, ya never know.]

Interesting, theres a lot of facts still to come. These places have usually prefered to hire the local jocks and what not. You know 6’5 tackles and guards and body builders. Its works I suppose to a degree but they come with a different skill set, but are probably half the price per hour.

He probably wasn’t at the door for whatever reason. Could be part of the reason the guy cased the place many times also, thats how to find the weakness.
There was also a bouncer inside (former Marine) that got a lot of people out when the shooting started. After reading a bit more, it looks like the cop was at the door or even outside because he was looking for an underage kid that tried to sneak in. That may have pulled him away or distracted him long enough for the shooter to get past.

I don’t think he was casing the place, I think he was an actual patron. But we may not every figure that out for sure, either.

The story I read said that he responded when he heard shots fired and immediately called for back up. The guard was at the front door and by the time he got to where the shooter was it seems he had already shot quite a few people and retreated to the bathrooms with hostages. The reporting is still pretty muddy. For example, I don’t see how the guy got past a cop at the door with a long gun. I also read a report that the police believe some of the casualties may have been hit by friendly fire in the shoot out. Still a lot we don’t know.
Maybe the guard recognized his face if he had been there on and off a for a few years and never thought anything of him…?

Mary.

**excerpt:

Clinton Foundation officials used an obscure New York state charity board filing to disclose that the non-profit received nearly $17.7 million in donations from foreign governments while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned. The specific foreign governments were not identified in the document, entitled “Exhibit A.”

Not correct on the UK or on Australia.

Wrong

Check out the others more carefully.

Julia Gillard was Prime Minister of Australia 2010-2013
Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister of Great Britain 1979-1990

Only Hillary has dealings with oppressive Middle Eastern regimes…does not compute…does not compute…

😉
Owning a for-profit business in a country is a far cry from accepting donations from that country’s government.

I agree.

But, I find it hypocritical of those businesses that made a big deal about boycotting North Carolina over its bathroom law who do business in middle-eastern countries with severe penalties for homosexuals. Boycott both, or don’t pull the PR stunt here in the US of boycotting NC.

Hillary Clinton may be a lot of things but she is hardly a dud. (Some have called her a dude.) But being a woman or a man is more than a matter of genitalia, is it not? Gender incorporates a host of personality differences, not to mention differences in life experience.
She’s a dud. She is not a dude.
That assessment is based on performance, and in no way denigrates her sexuality, as insinuating that she is a dude does.

And what matters is not experience of being a woman, but character. Choosing a president based on the superficiality of being a woman or man defines identity politics.

And you think that Donald Trump has character?

A Marine hey? Thats progress imho, I prefer them around even unarmed. I don’t know about casing the joint, the criminal mind is all about exploiting opportunity… It could be both for sure. I don’t deny his identity is relevant, so was his faith. In fact I’d bet his faith radicalized became the deal breaker with his own gay behavior.

Keep me up if your researching. 👍 3-4 seconds of tough choices.

Yes…it sort of reminds you of a certain “Christian” country that has never elected a woman as head of state…and whose opponent and his supporters are also VERY anti gay and has big money behind him also…so hopefully no woman will become head of state and or government in the for see able future…now what Christian country could that be…hmmm

Great Britain…nope
Canada…nope
New Zealand…nope
Australia…nope
much of South America…nope.
much of Europe…nope
:o:o:o:o
Wrong about New Zealand.

Jenny Shipley, 1997-1999.

Helen Clark, 1999-2008… (must have been popular, then? And she was!)

That he was self-loathing, perhaps in part because his religion rejects homosexuality.
Well, yeah, I guess you’re probably right. I don’t understand the psychology underlying what happened, and I don’t want to use the word “schizophrenic” in a loose, incorrect way, but can people actually be so conflicted/splintered that they just snap? I’m sure I’m oversimplifying mechanisms that are poorly understood, at best. 🤷
