Those poor children. And the tortured adults they have now become. I am glad God is there, because I could not forgive such atrocity and would send all the adults involved to burn in Hell for eternity, no matter how many times they claimed to be sorry.

That said, I wonder how true the allegations are. So many are anonymous… and we have had cases where people have claimed abuse where there was none just to take advantage of the Church…:confused: Don’t know what to think.

Didn’t Malachi Martin used to talk about such things? Has anyone read Lucifer’s Lodge by William H Kennedy? It seems to focus on this a lot. Of course, a lot of stuff designed to weaken the Church is put out, but this is pretty big news.

I don’t know about homosexuals as a whole, but from reading the story the individuals responsible were indeed gay.

Obviously not. Buddhist (Who allow gays, liberals, and masons in there ranks) and Orthodox don’t have this problem at any level close to this.
 
I think we we should hold off on condemnations any direction at this point.

There are aspects of these revelations that seem suspicious–like in “recovered memory” suspicious–or “McMartin Pre-School” suspicious.

Adopting a wait & see position.
 
I agree that people should be considered innocent until proven guilty and I certainly hope and pray this is not a reality for the young students at this school. God help them if it is valid.

All of the abuses were homosexual rape of boys past the age of puberty. You cannot deny the homosexual component of these abuses. Its not matter blame- it’s a matter of realizing that you cannot put practicing homosexuals into an all-male environment and not expect problems.

Exactly. This is, once again, not a case of pedophilia. Rather, it is homoesexually-oriented hebophilia. There is a huge difference.

On a side not the Shadow of the Dalai Lama has been shown to be little more than a hatchet job. That said what 12 priests compared to how many in the RCC plus cover ups.

Yet you don’t really see the cover ups, the ‘Great Lents’ where the laity are asked to repent (Shouldn’t it you know be the clergy and not the laity?), moving priest around and so on.

I agree that the “cover-ups” and/or transfers of priests is a scandal that needed/needs repair, but you do realize you just changed arguments, don’t you?

Your point in discussing Buddhists and Orthodox was ostensibly to show that celibacy had something to do with the sexual abuse issues. Bob and I are exposing your argument as completely without basis. Are you now conceding that point, since you decided to switch to complaining about the “cover-ups” instead?
