Why do I find it so difficult to understand why men would want to molest and rape any boy?:o

It’s true name is pederasty. Practitioners are called pederasts. Their slang name for their prey is ‘chicken’. They are predatory homosexuals targetting young pubescent boys, and references to paedophilia and hebephilia are to disguise the true nature of the crime.

Now that homosexuality is respectable in the media and amongst the politically correct, its evil nature must never be referred to.

It will be a grand day when all the deviant pseudo-priests are flushed out of the church, and we can be ministered to by good men we can have confidence in again.

I’ve read that the presence of such creeps in the Church is due to lax screening since the 1940’s. Once the perverts and the near-heretics are weeded-out or retire, it should be business as usual.

This is what I was talking about a page ago. How does your theory answer priests molesting girls?

👍 Agreed!

I’ve read that the majority of abuse is directed against young, pubescent boys. I’d guess there’s no more paedophilia against young girls in the priesthood than there is in any other profession that allows older men to have personal contact with young people.

I’m not excusing it. It’s just that I’ve read that ‘paedophile priests’ is a cover for ‘pederast priests’, an issue the modern media are uncomfortable with.

I’ve read that too many effeminate men were let into seminaries since the 1940’s, and that normal men were passed over. Hence the current problem.

It reminds me of the ‘sexy vicar’ stories in the News Of The World I used to read in the 1970’s. We are now more aware of such behaviour, so it can’t be hushed up so easily any more. When the Church has finally cleaned house, we can go back to business as usual.

Again agreed 👍

Personally I say make this actions an automatic excommunication, have the guilty have to appear before the Pope to get it lifted and as penance transferred to isolated monasteries.

This story is 25 years old, as in all the stuff that was alleged was in the late 70’s and early eighties. Of course that isn’t in the headline but buried in the body.

What was described in the article was as close to a Satanic Ritual as it gets. There are more questions about this…were these boys drugged? Why did the one person state that when he “woke up” these things were going on. Why all the chanting? This is absolutely and beyond a doubt ritualistic.

I wonder when this terrible thing will end? If this is a chastisement, I am praying for an end to this. I realize that this took place many years ago, and I don’t think they have the same opportunity for secrecy in 2008 but?

God help us!! Jesus have mercy on us!!

Agree 100% I worked with priests like this. Their favorite ages seemed to be 12-15 or so. It’s also very convenient that they cannot drive at that age, but the parents certainly trusted their sons to be with priests - what could go wrong? One of those priests was actually jailed. 👍 one slipped through the radar and ended up at another all-boy school. one may have been innocent, but was transferred away anyway. One left the school in disgust, and one seemed to actually be a good priest. But I have one simple question: how can a good priest knowingly live with these pederasts, and not turn them in? That bothers me as much as the sleazy gay guys getting in to begin with.

this is a very sad story to read and shocking. it sounds satanic as well.

i hope they are able investigate this thorougly and separate truth from fiction.

having just become a Catholic recently, i have followed everything that has happened in the past 10 years. i know there have been many accusations and many lawsuits and much money has been paid out.

whether 100% of the accusations are true, i do not know. whether there have been a few accusers who have seen an opportunity and have falsely accused in order to “cash in” i do not know.

i am definitely not accusing anyone from this school of making false accusations. this is very serious and i cannot imagine the psychological damage done to a person who was victimized in this way. the nightmares must never stop.

how these sick men were able to get into the priesthood is very sickening
and why it has taken so long for all of these stories to come out only makes me wonder where else it has happened and how many have not come forward or how many are being abused today.

this is a problem that the Catholic church must address and take care of and clean their Churches of these very sick men. if not, i for one, will find it hard to remain Catholic if i continue to read stories like this.

I understand where you are comign from…but our faith does not depend on the sexual immorality of a very small number of priests. This happens in other religions, and just as much, except the media does not report them because the media is anti-catholic on the whole. Ask me if this is fair?

Just as an aside and I am trying to be gentle, would you not marry because there are many, many more fathers who abuse and molest their own children? Same difference…

actually, shoshana, it is exactly that attitude you have that is so dangerous.
you cannot separate your faith from the roman catholic church and those in charge of doing the sacraments. it is that attitude, that has got us to where we are today.

yes, there have been instances in other churches, but few and far between.
nothing on the scale of what has happened in the roman catholic church.

and this is not just one priest in this case, this is a pedophilia ring!! that means more than one.

yes, i love the Catholic faith, but i cannot overlook these serious and damaging accusations of men who are supposed to be representatives of Christ. when we go to the sacrament of reconciliation and we are absolved of our sins, it is because they have been given the power of the holy spirit to absolve us.

granted, this investigation is over events which happened many years ago, but how many more of these accusations have we yet to hear.

i had thought of joining the church 10 years ago, but could not because the priest sex abuse scandal was just coming into the open. i have watched how the church has handled the situation. i have struggled with it and tried put it behind me when i joined this july. i love the Roman Catholic Church, but i can’t help but feel shame for the unspeakable acts these priests have committed. this is a very disturbing article and can’t be taken lightly.
you can say it is a small number of priests, but does that make it right? it is like you are almost overlooking the seriousness of the situation because it is a small per centage of the overall number of priests. however, this small number not only are psychologically damaging their young victims, but they are damaging the Church as a whole as well as contributing to a very negative way the outside world looks at us.

Actually, you need to do some research. There have been MANY instances in other churches, Little League, schools, private and public and in all other situations where adults are allowed to be left alone with children and teens. The only reason you don’t read about it is that the media loves to attack anything Catholic and because the Catholic Church is so large and worldwide.

Do the research. I have. You’ll see that I am right.

at us.
If we could not separate our faith from the sins of the fallible men who llead the church Christianity would’ve been stillborn. Peter denied Christ three times. Two the apostles tried to make a deal with Jesus had a higher standing in heaven…Judas betrayed him , Thomas doubted him ,Paul stood by and held the cloaks of those stoning Stephen to death

I would suggest you get yourself a book about the Saints. For every priest involved in the homosexual priest scandal there are 1,000s like Edith Stein, Maximilian Kolbe , Augustine, Aquinas, John Viani, Isaac jJogues, St. Teresa, etc. etc. etc.

I am not about to let these vile men run me away from the one true church.

However as the One True Church we should be held to a higher standard. We have to walk a fine line between pointing out that the problem was greater in other institutions and not coming across as making excuses . There is no doubt, however, that the press does single the church out.

that is exactly my point, the Roman Catholic Church should be held to a higher standard.

in little league, boy scouts, public schools, camps, there have been children victimized, but i still don’t think it is on the same scale as what has happened in the RCC. and i am speaking mainly of the RCC in america. i know there have been accusations made in Britain and Australia. i just wonder in the poorer countries how many cases have gone unreported.

and we can’t say that just because it is happening elsewhere, that is okay.

this is a subject that i feel very strongly that we cannont be in denial about.
and i say this because i love the Roman Catholic Church. i do not want to see her tarnished by more scandal. how can we expect to bring people to the one true faith with these types of things in the news?

granted, there are a few conversions here and there, but don’t you think more people would consider joining if this had not been allowed to go on for 50 or more years.

i can’t tell you the reaction i got or the things said to me when i told people that i had converted to the roman catholic church. it was not good and a lot of remarks were made about priests and young boys. there is definitely a lot of anti-catholicism out there, but how much is the Church’s fault. these scandals have done a lot of damage to the RCC and will continue to do so.

i replied that we need to look at the church as a whole and look at the good she has done over the centuries. and she has done much good.
