Irrelevant objection. The article explains why also polls like those from Fox News (conservative) and NBC/WSJ (WSJ: conservative) do not weight against party ID because it is unscientific.

I would be curious to know how many people are not answering their phones and how that is effecting results…And so they end up re-calling those who will take the poll.
I know that I dont get calls from pollsters, but I have been getting a ton of calls from the Romney campaign for donations…

I’ve been getting 2-3 calls a day for the last week asking for donations from Romney camp.
It has been reported that his small donation funds are very low.

I’ve been called for polls 6 times in the last two weeks at my work #. First time I have ever been polled. I thought about changing my answer every time just to mess with them.

I don’t have CID on my landline and most of the time I don’t answer. I let people start to leave a message on my machine and if I know them and want to talk to them of course
I’ll pick up. I get tons of hang ups. I just happened to pick up tonight. I’ve had one robo call for Romney and the robot left it on my machine. None for Obama actually unless they are the calls I’m not picking up.

Wouldn’t that be misleading if you told them differently than your intentions? Did you vote on your first day of early voting for Romney? I just saw on MSNBC Obama has 5 times the number of field offices there. Looked like lots of Obama supporters in line. At one location they had 100 before noon, more than the entire first day in 08 that location’s election official said.

You don’t have to tell me about it. In 08 I didn’t send $$$$$ to Obama. Maybe $ or at max $$ but in multiple very small donations. Just 3 mos after he announced in Feb 07 someone called asking if I had ever heard of Senator Barack Obama? Of course I had. I remembered his speech at the 04 convention and had watched his announcement and knew he opposed the Iraq war from the start. Opposing the war was good enough for me to make a small donation. And after that my requests were endless too.

Ringil, maybe you not living in a swing state is why you’re not polled as a liberal. You’re always in those blue states from what I’ve been able to gather and ya got so many liberals around ya anyway. Me OTOH? Always have been in a swing state somewhere.I’m liberal and never been polled. Gotta wonder.

Of course it would be misleading, which is why I didn’t…but it was tempting. (Although, I have been known to change my mind on who I’m going to vote for all the way up until I actually vote and sometimes even after.)
I didn’t get to vote today…too long of lines this morning when I had a chance.

A lot of course still hinges on the debates, especially the first one. However, early voting has already begun in Iowa, where it appears quite heavy, and, I believe soon (tomorrow?) in Ohio, and later in Florida. So a significant number of people are most likely not even waiting for the debates. I think that because of the recent gaffes by Romney, and their continuous repetition by the MSM, as well as his generally inept campaign and Obama’s more-than-competent one, and the several constituencies that Romney has alienated, notably Latinos and women, these polls are not so surprising. But this is politics, and October surprises are par for the course, so I wouldn’t bet the farm just yet (if I had a farm).

I hear ya. In 2000 I didn’t decide Gore over Nader until I was driving to my polling place. Long lines are expected here too because early voting has been cut like in half or something. Good grief saw tonight it doesn’t start until something like Oct 27 and I’m not sure if Sundays are in or out now. And also with the length of the ballots with all the races and ballot issues and how they’ve been printed up, they say it will take people so long to mark a ballot, there will be long lines. I’m leaning towards a mail ballot.
