Poll shows more Americans think Obama is a Muslim

Here are substantial evidence of Obama acting Islamic. Before and after pictures. We all know, kaffars are not allowed inside the mosque, right? 😉
Obama was taking his shoes off, as all people need to do when they enter a mosque whether they’re Muslim or not. It’s about keeping the carpet clean.

Of course non-Muslims are allowed in mosques.

Again, nowhere did I accuse anyone from the Bush Administration of explicitly accusing Saddam Hussein of being involved with 9/11, what they did was constantly mention Saddam Hussein and 9/11 together (as well as making false claims of a Iraq/Al-Qaeda connection) in such a way so as to create the impression that there was a connection. This explains why in that period the percentage of Americans believing Saddam Hussein to be personally involved in the 9/11 attack rose from 3% to 70%, an amazing achievement for any propaganda system.
You’re still denying the obvious??

You provided one quote (non-repetitive) in support, and several denials that Saddam was involved in 9/11. I wouldn’t call that very effective “propoganda”. You then made a false conclusion, linking the poll to the one quote, along with the caveat “without directly saying the lie itself” on the part of the deniers. Is denying a link between 9/11 and Saddam a type of reverse psychology, which does in fact, bring the “Big Lie” theory into play? I think that’s a bit of a stretch.

In regards to the poll you keep addressing, by that same logic, are these figures the same result of “…an amazing achievement for any propaganda system…”?

50% of Saudi Arabians support bin Laden’s views, or that in 2008, 40% of Egyptians and 31% of Jordanians believed Israel was behind the 9/11 attacks on the US …?

It’s your right to hate obama’s policy or he himself. I found it interesting that most thinking this way tend to use the exact same language. That was my point.
Of course we use the exact same language. Being that Obama is so wise and wonderful we are not capable of coming up with criticisms of him ourselves. Fortunately cabal of evil coporations funds a team of right-wing scholars who spend every night pouring over everything Obama has ever done to see if there is anything whatsoever he can be criticized about. Having found one of these elusive nuggets they e-mail it to all his opponents (some of us are advanced enough to have implants in our brains which allow the thoughts to be directly transmitted to us ). Were it not for the enlightened, those blessed enough to realize that most people are not capable of thinking for themselves and need their assistance ,we would rule the world,

Going hand in hand with the “big lie” is the fact that the economy didn’t make a sudden and miraculas turn around. I think perhaps there are some voters who were “on the edge” so to speak, but were wooed by Obama’s seemingly invincible confidence when it came to economic issues.

Now that he hasn’t delivered (in thier eyes, to be fair any rational person should not have expected such a turn around), I wager this group feels burned and are now inclined to beleive any scandolous factoid (no matter how false) about the president.

If this is true it should make the 2012 elections very interesting… Obama would certainly be a toxic name to such a group of voters (assuming they exist).

For my part, I hope we get a good Presidential candidate on the Republican side (NJ’s Christi?) to take on Obama… I too feel burned by the current President and would love to see him replaced with a compitent individual, who is a good Christian and better yet specifically a good faithful Catholic.

People will believe anything…embrace anything given enough time. Look at Nazi Germany, The Reformation, The Spanish Inquisition, The Communist Scare in Hollywood in the 1950s and 1940s, Rowanda’s Genocide, The Taliban and their rule…sadly it all happens over and and over again just read your history.

Since the moderator mentioned it, this seems like an ad hominem attack.
Actually the ad hominem was in not addressing the points the poster made, but in attacking the poster as “using borrowed arguments”. Here is the example:

Markbrumbaugh made this point:" He(Obama) wants to redistribute wealth by forcefully taking it away from those who earned it through honest hard work and give it to someone else of his chosing. How can this not be wrong and despised?" He made other points as well.

You responded: This is the exact talk that is pumped 24/7 from a certain news source.

Ad Hominem. Liberals argue like this often.

Correct. His post was a perfect example-rather than respond to the arguments made he attacks the poster for the sources he allegedly bases his arguments on. I might add, in all honesty , that your comment “Liberals argue like this often” is also an example.

Well, is it ad hominem in a discussion of the ad hominem to accuse liberals of using ad hominem tactics often? I believe that is the subject that we were discussing.

THAT one is fox news with his brother talking about how Obama is a muslim, and has a pic of them…all in muslim dress. ((shrug))

Yeah, I guess your right…if someone keeps repeating a message over and over…
You do know that outfit is traditional Kenyan garb right? And that the President has publicly professed to be a Christian?

For 50 % of Americans, his version of Christianity is just so far removed from their experience of their own religion that they find that claim tobeing Christian rather incredible. It is not a Christianity that they in any way recognize as their own.
In many ways, he is at least a cultural(cafeteria) Muslim, much more familiar with an at ease with fundamentalist Muslims than he is with fundamentalist Christians.

His experience with Christianity is with Black liberation theology after all. It has more in common with Farrakhan’s Islam and the Islam of the third world mindset than it does with either the Catholicism of the Roman rites, or with the Evangelism that is so strong in America.

This is the exact talk that is pumped 24/7 from a certain news source. they no longer pretend to be fair and balanced because their viewers no longer require the truth. A poster at the beginning of the thread was correct in the Big Lie" theory. This thread is proof of that. I would tend to give more credence to an arguement that is not as carefully worded after that day’s talking points. If one can’t take an arguement and put it in one’s own words i find it hard to believe it’s not a borrowed arguement.
This response is quite offensive.

I do not listen to any certain news source, I did not receive any talking points, and it is certainly in my own words. I don’t borrow my convictions from anyone, they are from my heart.

They’re not all socialists or communists. A lot of them are people who have good intentions but are just ignorant or naive.
Well of course and I agree.
I sarcastically stated a few posts back, that I thought all Obama supporters were communists.

I was responding to the gambit by the poster who said “Personally, I view Obama haters as unAmerican, people who are unwittingly weakening our nation and playing into the hands of our country’s enemies.”

I apologize if necessary, but I get sick and tired of people calling me un-American because I believe in the constitution and do not support the policies of the current administration. A lot of my friends didn’t like Reagan, maybe even hated him, but I did not call them un-American.

On the other hand, how can anyone who knows the foundation of this country and the magnificent benefits that have accrued from this system, actively support socialism and call its detractors (of socialism) (meaning us conservatives) un-American? What school did they go to? Did they never have to learn about the constitution, the declaration of independence or anything?

Boy…I sure hope this hasn’t been on Fox news.

This thread is no longer about Obama’s religion. It has been completely derailed into one about questioning news sources.

Interesting.

That is the way an ad hominem attack is supposed to work. It relieves a person launching attack from having to discuss the issue at hand and instead results in those who oppose his position defending themselves instead of defending their position. The other classic ways to bring this about is to level charges of racism, political correctness, homophobia, bigotry etc.

Interesting.
It hasn’t been derailed, the thread is about a poll showing many Americans **think **Obama is a Muslim. Since there’s nothing to discuss regarding Obama’s actual religion (since it’s just a fact that he is not a Muslim), the only logical route this thread would take is discussing how and why so many Americans have come to think this.
