Yes, I’m sure the muslim nations would respond completely positive to a renewal of an 800 year old event for which they still harbor sour grapes.
Yes, that’ll flush em …
don’t care much about their feelings considering their antics …
Some of them may truly be good guys, but an awfully lot of them aren’t
And are being harbored knowingly or unknowingly imho.

I kind of hope he calls for a Crusade.
Undoubtedly that’s what the perpetrators of these Parisian murders also hope.

It’s been reported, by the way, that at least one witness has described the attackers as young, white-skinned native Europeans.

Maybe we can all read this if this has been reported.

Saying such things really should be sourced.

Or info discarded if there is no source.

I’d be careful about that. EU media and some Europeans are terribly PC about that sort of thing. The Swedish media has been caught red-handed lying about nationalities out of xenophobic paranoia.

Although, it’s certainly possible. IS has been allowed to grow and fester under the foreign policy of President Obama.

I would welcome a statement from the Pope that the young men leaving the Middle East may have a duty to stay and fight for their freedom and the safety of their families. This would be difficult in an area with no history of freedom of speech, religious liberty, freedom of the press, and little understanding of the dignity of the individual. Christianity and Islam are very different in these areas.
I would also welcome a statement like that.

Are peaceful ‘moderate’ muslims around the world passing the hat to collect money to help their fellow Syrian bro and sister stay in place and fight for safety and freedom? Certainly the ‘violent’ muslims know how to fund their cause.

It brings about a certain skepticism because for one, every time a “Muslim” or a sharia law activist blows up something, some folks in the Western left race out of the gate to try and find anything, something to make sure people realize white, Anglo, preferably conservative Christians have been bad, too.

It’s rather interesting how some folks can be so critical of Christians, but so defensive of Islam and other migrants.

Oh, but take heart, because progressivism is the future, cause they say so!

Forward! :whacky:

Well, the governments of surrounding oil-rich states have shown no interest whatsoever in the plight of those people.

One would think that those progressives and their allies who criticize some Eastern European nations for protecting their borders and sovereign status would be at least just as angry with these Middle Eastern nations, but nope. :nope:

I guess that’s because it would be racist, bigoted and islamophobic. 🤷 And it would thus undermine a main goal here which is to appease and look good in front of certain groups of migrants as yet another chance to be seen as “tolerant”.

Also, the question should not be “Are all Muslims bad?”. The answer is no. The question should be as sharia law is taking root in places like Canada, Europe and possibly Australia, what incentive do Muslim men have to go against it, when they clearly benefit from it by magnitudes more than anyone else?

Whenever this conversation takes place, some actually believe that migrants from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Oceania will automatically adopt secular, leftist European values for the most frivolous reasons when the Europeans lack nationalism of their own. If the Europeans don’t like their countries, how on earth could they expect foreigners to ever adopt their values?—Not that all of them are worthy of adoption, of course.

It’s an unbelievably hilarious assumption when the migrants themselves are having a broader impact on their culture than vis-versa.

We did take refugees but was extremely limited.
Very true, though sad. The only time the US took in European refugees during WWII took place at Fort Ontario in Oswego, NY in '44. It resulted in 982 refugees coming to the US. To get them into the country, Roosevelt had them identified as his “guests” rather than refugees to bypass immigration quotas. The US didn’t want refugees back then either, it seems.

I’ll try to find it.

This one mentions that one of them had “brown hair,” but I read another where a witness described them as “white skinned.”

It is a politically offensive description, I guess, but that was the quote.

I’m sorry I don’t have it offhand - please give me a few minutes.

What is offensive is bringing race into it when Muslims are of all colors and have been in Europe for centuries, Turks, Chechnya, one of ISIS’s top commanders has been Omar the Chechen, guess what? He’s a European. Guess who did the Boston Marathon bombing, Europeans.

So even if they looked “white skinned”, I believe the only thing offensive would be to try to lay blame where perhaps it doesn’t belong.

You even have Syrian refugees reported, if one looks at the photos, with blue eyes.

Oh dear, brown hair.

Reportedly, another Syrian refugee child:

Chechens even fight in militias in no way connected to ISIS in Syria.

“He added that one of the gunmen had white skin and blonde hair, while some of the men talked about friends in Syria while shooting innocent concert goers.”

There are white Muslims, black Muslims and brown Muslims and indeed, from the Far East as well. It’s a surprise to me if people do not know this.

This says nothing about “Native Europeans”.

What I believe is that these terrorists were probably vets of the Syrian Civil War and they did know how to run an efficient operation as expressed in where they say the shooter was calm.

On top of all of this, there have been plenty of converts to Islam in Europe, Franck Ribery, a famous soccer player in France has, look at Cat Stevens, the singer.

Look at Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, he in fact, could be said to have blonde hair especially with pictures of him in his youth.

The oldest Mosque in England I believe is over 100 years old.

Second paragraph:

Regardless, though, my point was only that an all-out-battle-to-the-death between all of Christendom versus all of Islam, which is what “crusade” generally means, is absurd. ISIL is comprised of people from tons of ethnicities, just as the “rebels” the United States is funding, arming and training are comprised of foreign mercenaries of many different ethnicities.

Perhaps you’re confused about the flow of comments, and my comment specifically.

I mentioned “white skinned” because a CAF member seemed to be pining for a new crusade.

The crusades were, by and large, Europeans versus Middle Easterners.🤷

Just offering a source for a claim made earlier, which you requested. I offered no commentary.

And let’s not forget that Islam has reigned for 100s of years in parts of Europe, Chechnya, Dagestani, all of those other former USSR Republics like Aizerbaijan, in Turkey and in Bosnia and Albania too.

They invaded Rome and they ruled over Spain for 700 years.

Exactly. You’re agreeing with me. That was my entire point.

I think the comment “Time to call for a new Crusade” was said half-heartedly but a lot of people believe that.

If one for some reason brings race into the equation, how does that offset the killing of Christians in the Middle East? This is what a lot of people want, for the Christians to be protected, in Syria and in Nigeria where they have been under attack, regardless of skin-color, not all Christians are white Europeans.
