What about the life of the child of an unwanted pregnancy after the child leaves the womb? In all the focus on the life of the fetus, the life of the child after it is born seems to be unfortunately overlooked too often. Being “pro-life” cannot end with the birth of a child.

That is why the Church is world’s largest Charitable organization. No one can ever say that the Church does not care for everyone, from conception to natural death.

I guess it is a lot easier to kill an innocent child when you don’t when you don’t have to suffer the discomfort of looking into their eyes as you do it.

There are between 2300 and 4000 crisis pregnancy centres in America, and there are many Church and they might provide help to pregnant women through their pregnancy and after their child or children are born. Financial help, counselling, clothes, help to get housing, for example.

I used to be an active lesbian before joining the Church. I had been ignoring a call to the Church my whole life, but I finally gave it a chance. I stopped dating girls within 2 weeks of my first Mass out of love for Christ [though I’m still only attracted to women]. Don’t be so quick to underestimate what the Lord can do with rebellious minds.

I’m sincerely glad to hear of the lifestyle change you have undertaken.

I think, though, that you are a great example of what I said. You came back to the Church because of a change in YOU, not a change in the CHURCH. Ultimately, you had to hear what the Church teaches regarding same-sex relationships. The Pope isn’t changing that teaching, so anyone who is attracted to the Church must still accept the teachings.

Doesn’t that misrepresent the concerns of people that are morally and ethically against abortion?

Doesn’t the Catholic Church teach us to value human life throughout the entire spectrum of life, from conception to natural death?

Crisis pregnancy centers far outnumber abortion clinics. They provide a variety of direct services and referrals.

There’s still a whole lot of adoption going on. Every baby is wanted by someone.
