Pope condones contraceptives for zika outbreak?

It doesn’t matter what we know about zika or don’t. That has zero bearing on whether or not contraception is immoral.

The situation is that the pope has stated that contraception is ok sometimes. That is directly contradictory to Church teaching.

No, not really. Not even a little bit. It is simply the plain truth. Frankly, the sooner we all get out of denial about the situation and deal with it, the better off we will be. It isn’t going to just go away if we ignore it.

You are aware that accusing anyone – especially the religious – of heresy violates forum rules…right?

The Pope is heretical?? When you say ‘out there in the open’ you can only be referring to the layman holier then thou’s because I’ve not heard a single member of the clergy make that accusation about our Holy Father.

It does.
Say the vaccine for Zika takes a couple if years. Say it is found that it does cause microcefalia and Guillaim Barre and say it is proved that it both can be sexually transmitted.
Its estimation is to reach the Americas except for Chile and Canada.
Grab the mic and anounce what the teaching is for all those married and getting marrued for the next two years.
Let us see if we can work out some reasonable worst case scenario and try to uphold teaching.
Btw , we are supposed to marry to have kids as well.
And bear in mind the Pope asked to try hard with the research.
What would you say ,White Sheep ?

Saying you can use contraception is heretical. That’s a heterodox statement. There’s no two ways about it. I didn’t accuse him of anything. He said something heretical in an interview and Fr. Lombardi later clarified that it was the case.

No, it doesn’t make any difference. If one spouse contracts HIV, it is still immoral for them to use condoms to try to prevent the other spouse from acquiring it. This is already Church teaching.

So if i try to tell you that in my Catholic view Jesus is not God. you cannot tell me that such a view is heretical because of forum rules?

This is a mosquito. You are bitten by no fault of your own.
Mosquitoes in some areas are a pain in the neck for long periods of time.
The variables I did.not metion is they have fpund the virus in saliva and urine though it cannot be proved it is contagious via any of these yet.
So would you briefly tell the world living with Zika what to do please ?

No, I am saying that he is not espousing heresy. You are calling the Vicar of Christ a heretic, which seems an odd position for a Catholic to take.

Your Catholic view? To be able to claim a superior credential, I assume you have done 7 years of seminary, 50 plus years as holy Priest, Bishop, Archbishop, Cardinal. Are so highly respected by the College of Cardinals for your track record that you are elected Pope.

So, who should we listen to on interpreting Catholic teaching, the Pope, or random anonymous internet posters? I think the Pope is the one who is supposed to interpret Catholic teaching, so I will go with him on this one.

If you think the threat is serious enough that you should avoid getting pregnant then abstain from relations or use nfp.

If it is sexually transmitted ,NFP makes no point. Agree ?
