Go all the way back to Genesis when God said He rested on the seventh day–right? Well in the Jewish calendar that would be on Saturday and in the Romans calendar(which we follow) it would be Sunday.😃 👍

How is that for simple:p 😉

K.I.S.S–Keep it simple stupid.🤷
In the Roman Calendar Sunday is the First day of the week. Even on the calender it’s shown as the first day.

so i guess KISS didn’t work here

Jud 1:17
But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Jud 1:18
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Let us end this. Why is it that you prefer your biblical proofs to those of the Roman Catholic Church?

No offense but the RCC lacks biblical proofs. And it’s not just the lack of biblical proof, it has a lot to do with the delicate equation of grace and faith.

1Th 5:21
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Perhaps I was unclear. For me, the teaching of the Magesterium is sufficient proof for me. I believe that Jesus was not lying when He promised His apostles to lead them into all truth. I believe this Truth He taught them is preserved in the teachings of the Church.

When you invite me to "prove’ these things to you, I know that you have different standards than the one who wrote that text. The Apostle Paul was Catholic, and held everything up to the doctirne of the Catholic Church. Anything that fell short of that was spurious to him. You reject the standards that St. Paul used, therefore, “proof” to you is not possible from the tenents he used.

“Prove” in this passage (dokimazo) means to evaluate or discern. Since the standards of your evaluation and discernment are not those that Paul used when he wrote that verse, I doubt that the word can be properly applied in this case.

2Ti 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Ti 4:4
And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
If you believe these verses apply to Roman Catholics, believers, why are you here? What fellowship has light with darkness? Why frequent and post on a forum of such persons? Should you not shun the reprobate?

this is not the first time this guy has put his foot in his mouth, its not even the second, Don,t forget that I was around during WW2. Those teenager that belonged to those Nazi youth organizition where there by choice. They all loved Hitler
The pope did not “put his foot in his mouth”. It’s those of yuo who are too ignorant to read the document to come from our point of view. We consider Protestants to be Christians (as long as they believe in the Triune GOd and were baptized in the Triune fashion), but we do not believe them to have the fullness of Truth because they left that in the 16th century. The Pope is simply reiterating what has been Catholic teaching for 2 millenia. Those without apostolic succession are not churches in the truest sense of the word, but Christians may subsist in their communities. A Church is an organization that practices the 7 sacraments. All other groups should be referred to as communities.

Oh! So when you wrote in your previous post that He could never have been crucified, because He would be cursed for hanging on a tree? so, was he in a coma when he was taken down? Not really dead, just looked dead? They thought He was dead, so they put Him in the tomb? Or maybe you don’t believe He was buried either?
This belongs on another thread. But it is also most possibly the most glaring example here of the thread title!
Hi
I would have not pointed it out, if you have not written that as a matter of policy you want to reply my every post. I might have written not less that a hundred times that Jesus was delivered from cross in near-dead position like Jonah was neardead in the belly of the fish, and Jesus himself quoted this from OTBible.
I think you have missed many of my post. Please read them all and contribute your posts on them.
Thank

Firstly, JesusYeshuaIssa did not leave anything revealed on him from GodAllahYHWH in the form of written stone tablets as was in case of Moses, Secondly or anything written by JesusYeshuaIssa himself when he left from Galilee, after the incident of Crucifixion, alongwith his mother Mary in search of the lost ten tribes of the house of Israel.
Jesus left nothing behind anything authenticated by him, in possession of the Church.
We do respect the NTGospels which (perhaps stand at a lower stage Thirdly) have account of Jesus life, but it does not have any strong value for us more than a book of history subject to scrutiny, internal as well as external, for each event for truth on merit.

I will not, paarsurry. Instead, I will pray that your ignorance is indeed invincible, and that it may be resolved here on this board. Jesus was not “delivered from the cross in a near-dead position”. He gave his life as ransom for many.
paarsurrey;2479598:

No, he left a gospel to be preached, that was based on the writings of Moses and revelation of the th Father, and He left a Church, to promulgate and protect His truth.
Secondly or anything written by JesusYeshuaIssa himself when he left from Galilee, after the incident of Crucifixion, alongwith his mother Mary in search of the lost ten tribes of the house of Israel.

This is either a lie (deliberate deception) or a gross misunderstanding (ignorance). In either case, it is wrong. Jesus left “all truth”, authenticated by Him, and in possession of the Church, and His Spirit guards that Truth until the end of the age. May you find it quickly!

You do not respect the NT gospels, because, if you did, you would know that in them, Jesus claims to be God, and claims that he will give his life as a ransom for His people. Since you deny these things that Jesus said about Himself, you deny Him, the Gospel histories of Him, and the Church that He founded. What are you doing here, anyway?

I’m planting seeds.
What fellowship has light with darkness?
You’ve taken this verse out of context. Being here does not make me unequally yoked with an unbeliever as the scripture defines that verse.
Should you not shun the reprobate?
NEVER. I’ll even witness to atheists if they’ll listen to me. Besides, I’m not to judge who is or isn’t reprobate.

Hsa 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Lacks biblical proofs, is another way of saying that you reject their proofs and interpret the Bible yourself, the way your minister told you to. Right?

I was protestant before…

I can give you six verses for this or that and you can give me six back. That is what it is like talking to a protestant.

Then I usually get a response of a passage from Psalm talking about a dead body (King David had seen a few)… a song about a cadaver as proof…

It’s a delicate balance between being your own person and accepting God the way He’s presented at the Catholic Church.

Proud people will say that they are properly Apostolic or that it is moral to use contraception. Or that other people are going to hell(huge excessive pride). Or that everyone goes to Heaven(gumdrops and lollipops).

God is God, and you don’t have to -like- everything He says.

I am being hostile to what I was taught…
The only disagreement I could find was that my church interpreted things different and pumped me up telling me what I wanted to hear…

The pope has no right to say that. I am a catholic, and have had 16 years of catholic education to boot. The catholic church is not the ONLY true church, There are many other churches that have manycorrect views. If you want to get down to it, most of our laws are man made, jseus never said many of those things… If you want we can start with confession. Did jesus have confession for his 12 apostles? he only said, do this in memory of me. You get your idea from pauls writings. He was only cautioning them from having communion after being drunk and partying. he also use the the word as a adverb.

.

So after 16 years of catholic education you learned that its ok to chastise the Pope for his “ignorance” of Catholic Doctrine? One has to ask ust where in the heck did you get this "education?
So lets see-you dont believe in the Primacy of the Church, you dont beleive in confession but you are Catholic???

He was only saying what?

Many correct views does not make a church.

Jesus gave the Apostles the right to “retain Sin.” That is confession.

If you don’t have some obedience and respect for the Pope, you aren’t really very Catholic.

The Orthodox have **much **more respect…

I went to Mount Alvernia for grammer school. Catholic Memerial, for high school. Notre Dame for college. As far as the pope goes, lets look at the history of the popes. lets start with Pope John 8Th. Was a woman, interesting? They found out when she was having a baby. Or the other popes that sold out the church for money. The married popes? What about the Pope Pius XII?

They are human just like us. Some good some bad. i would say in the last 150 years, Only one pope, that had the mind and heart of jesus. John Paul 2.

That is my take.

I am really not interetd in your “take” What i am intersted in is how you can have so much Catholic education and know so little about Catholic doctrine?

There never was a pope Joan BTW. newadvent.org/cathen/08407a.htm

How does a person get 16 years of Catholic education? Nice trick, since there are only 12 years of Catechism classes available. 😉 (The majority of people only do the three Sacramental Preparation years.)

Or do you mean that you are sixteen years of age, and have attended Catholic schools all your life (which is not the same thing as receiving a Catholic education - you can go to Catholic schools without ever attending any of the optional Catechism classes)?

So true. Peter was married. The pope is just as human as we are, only one perfect person that ever lived. jesus, that is why i have problems with my church. the biggest question i have regarding our church is if we are the whore in revelation. it seems to be a very good chance.

i had the franciscians for grades 1 thru 8. grades 9-12, the jesuits. and college the jesuits. 8 + 4+ 4 = 16

On what would you base that? It would seem the Logical choice would be the Emeror Nero -the numeric value of his name is 666.

But getting back to the present I would suggest you speak with your pastor aboutthe poor cathecizing you have recieved. You might also want to sign up for RCIA so you can get at least a basic understanding of the Church you claim to belong to.
