Other outlets are reporting the same. catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=18120

Things like this, which have been speculated on for years (The Lavender Mafia), may be a large part of the reason that His Holiness Pope Benedict decided that he should not continue. He may very well have decided that it would take someone with more energy and time than he had to root this out and make the changes which are needed.

I’ve heard about this element before, but I don’t recall any of the past Popes mentioning it. Can anyone confirm that this is the first time, or did his predecessors ever talk about it?

Heretics used to be burned at the stake and this is a prime example of why. Not that I am advocating that, but souls are at stake. Let these ravenous wolves be anathema in my humble opinion.

MODERATOR NOTICE

The CAF rules against attacking Catholic Clergy have NOT been suspended

There is no clarification as to what the Holy Father said, in what context it was said and what he meant He might have meant any number of things. Members are cautioned not to jump to preconceived notions of what the term “gay lobby” means.

People who insist on slandering Catholic Clergy or instigating scandal will be suspended or banned and their posts will be deleted

Please read the forum rules posted at the top of the forum.

I will leave this thread open as long as all members refrain from attacking Catholic clergy

A gay lobby could have many meanings. It could be outside influences, as are the lobbies that work to influence legislation in our Congress, or it could be bishops with pastoral concern for the homosexual community. If it were corruption in the Church itself, I would expect to see a few firings or dismissals. We’ll just have to wait and see, while the media spins its wheels in speculation as it tries to gin up interest to sell “newspapers.”

"In his viral paper “Standing with the Pope Against Homoheresy”, Fr. Dariusz Oko, Ph.D. revealed that Pope Benedict XVI was battling a huge homosexual underground in the Vatican known as the Lavender Mafia “When they achieve a decision-making position, they try to promote and advance mostly those whose nature is similar to theirs”

I thought this was refuted along with his so-called comments about traditionalists.

I thought it seemed pretty clear to me. I don’t see why people are afraid of this.🤷

I read what the Pope said in Spanish. He said there is a gay lobby and inferred he is saddened by that. That was it - no particulars.

  1. Thanks 👍

The news article I read said a little more about what Pope Francis said.

Besides confirming the lobby, he very humbly referred to himself as not being the best administrator but said that he had appointed the Cardinal commission to address the reform.

I think we have such a good, honest, humble and wise Pope!
