I read that the Pope gave President Trump a copy of his writings (which I think is a traditional thing for Popes to give to world leaders, but I could be wrong), and the President gave him some of Rev. Martin Luther Kingâs speeches.I never did hear what gifts were exchanged between Pope Francis and President Trump.
My wife asked if they were going to a funeral. Not sure why Melania and Ivanka wore veils, itâs not required nor necessary.
From my view, it came across as theyâre own stereotype of what was necessary in meeting the Pope.
Melaniaâs veil looked weird.
Many women have met Pope Francis and other Popeâs, but did not wear veils.

Melania is always subdued & uncomfortable looking!I didnât think Melania looked well. Ivanka and her husband were there and some of Trumpâs cabinet and advisers. Melania seemed subdued.
It was a 30 minute meeting. Not sure they could have had a very in depth discussion about anything in 30 minutes. Then they were given a tour after a photo session.
I donât think CNN and MSNBC and CBS have been giving a lot of coverage to this important trip. They have preferred to talk about
Russia and the hearings.
The Trump team probably had to compete in the Italian media for coverage vs. the Obamas who are staying at the villa that belongs to Obamaâs ambassador to Italy somewhere around Tuscany. Obama has been in Italy since he gave his speech on climate change.

You guys just canât help yourselves. My wife asked if they were going to a funeral.
She didnât look subdued when she slapped Trumps hand away earlier in the trip. She was in her full Eastern European Woman mode (I was married to a Russian previously, I know what thatâs like).Melania is always subdued & uncomfortable looking!![]()
I donât remember your questioning Michelle Obama. Not sure why Melania and Ivanka wore veils, itâs not required nor necessary.

Then I take it Trump didnât mention the actual funding measure he just signed into law? PP funding is still in there.Quite possibly since they are both pro life and the proposed budget

In âcordial discussionsâ between Pope Francis and President Donald Trump this morning, âsatisfactionâ was expressed for âgood existing bilateral relationsâ as well as âthe joint commitment in favor of life and freedom of worship and conscience.
My thoughts exactlyYou guys just canât help yourselves.![]()
Why all the quotation marks?Pope and Trump âExpress Satisfactionâ Over Joint Commitment in Favor of Life

I wonder if they discussed Manchester, England.I wonder if they discussed the comparative merits of walls and bridges
