Does Donald Trump have a plan to ensure that every person in America receives healthcare? What about Hillary Clinton? Does she have a plan to ensure that every person in America receives adequate healthcare?

That would have been Obamacare.

I agree with the Pope.
Me too.

Too often, talk of rights make us uncomfortable. But if we think of the earth as God’s gift to ALL of us, then it stands to reason that we all have an equal right to at least the basic fruits of the earth (from which ultimately, all wealth stems).

The idea that people must earn or deserve everything in life or go without, is not Catholic. Even if we each have a responsibility (all rights are matched to corresponding responsibilities) to work/earn/contribute, there are a myriad reasons why some may be unable to contribute in a manner proportional to their needs. This inability still does not negate their right to share in the fruits of the earth. The right to basic human needs is an essential part of what it means to be human.

When we recognize and respect that right (of the disadvantaged), either individually or as a society, we are not doing some lofty favor to lesser beings, as prevalent attitudes might suggest - we are simply being just and fair to them.
