I am the other poster.
Read what I wrote, not what you think I wrote. I did not make a blanket statement about ANY religion, but I did make statements proclaiming Jesus is Lord and to say that He is not is an evil lie. This lie is a lie of murder, for anyone who believes Jesus is not Lord turns their back on the bread of life. I stand by that.

DO YOU?

I ask again who is the murderer and father of lies? What bigger lie is their than that lie about Jesus. What other lie could be more spiritually murderous?
I think (hope) any Catholic would agree that any religion other than Christianity was incorrect. I wouldn’t say they were telling an ‘evil lie’ though. That’s your phrase, and that’s your opinion, and you’re welcome to hold it, but you have to apply it equally to every non-Christian religion.

Why put words in my mouth? Sir, I do not mean to sound angry. I do mean to say what I think is the truth. Please stop taking my words out of context. I did not call other religions an “evil lie”, but I did indeed speak of an evil lie.

Let me try again, because I think it is a really important point to think about.

Those who deny the Sonship of Jesus speak an evil lie. They may not know they speak an evil lie, but they speak an evil lie none the less. Just as we do not condemn a modern day Lutheran of being apostate since they were not born of the faith, just so those who speak such an evil lie may not know in their hearts the evil of the lie they speak, but someone spoke that lie. Objectively speaking to deny the Son is an evil lie and to speak such a lie inherently denies oneself the life giving Son, the Eucharist Who sustains us and Whose mercy we seek. It is to deny the fullest and most true human which denies us our own humanity. Jesus is Lord.

We have an enemy. He is a liar and the father of lies and he was a murderer from the begining. There is one lie that is both a lie and used against mankind is a weapon of spiritual murder and that lie is to deny the Bread of life, the Way and the Life, the eternal Word, Jesus Christ.

Know your enemy!

I’m really not. Please read what I’ve said again.

Indeed you didn’t.
but I did indeed speak of an evil lie.
And in a way you’re right. Anyone who denies the divinity of Christ is incorrect, whether a Muslim, a Jew, an atheist, or anyone else.

I wouldn’t call it an ‘evil lie’, at least not as spread by those people though. They have to know it is false for it to be an ‘evil lie’ to them. I’m sure they sincerely believe that they have the truth and Jesus isn’t who we say.

Of course, if they listened a little closer for the real truth, they might work out that we have it and they don’t 🙂 For now though, I wouldn’t say they were spreading an ‘evil lie’, as they don’t believe it to be a lie.

They speak incorrectly. I’m still not convinced I want to call it ‘an evil lie’, although if you’re going to trace it back to the devil, I do see your point.
