Why must you always answer a question with a question? Can’t you just answer my question or not? Where was Israel? Or Palestine?

I think that number is a little low. Let’s not forget the thousands if not millions of Christians that were murdered too. Gypsys and so forth. Although it was targeted more at the Jews, others have also died.

six million Jews MINIMUM were murdered.We’re not discussing numbers murdered but aA specific number who were saved through Pius XII.

I just think some Jews do not appreciate what the pope did, they are misinformed if anything…too bad.

Being Polish? Just being Jewish was what Hitler hated, it didn’t matter where you were from, it mattered that you were Jewish. Listen, I know he is burning in hell for this and he deserves it, it was a horrendous crime that I still today cannot fathom it could even happen. but at least recognize what the Catholic church did by putting themselves on the chopping block also.

It’s the other guy I was telling to read the article about Israel.

Why should I read a book defending Pius against accusations of him being something I’ve never accused him of being? I’ve never suggested that he was some kind of bad guy - whether he could have done more or said more is another thing altogether and it’s arguable.

I’ve not even been discussing that, though, so you’ve picked the wrong poster for the discussion that you seem to want to have.

My argument (in any thread about Pius that I’ve ever been in, which isn’t often) is with the defenses of Pius that are commonly put forward here - like the ‘800,000’.

But if you can question the 800,000 as if it never happened, can’t we as well question the 6 million as well?

That is not true.

Nazi Germany killed the Roma Gypsies (Porajmos, look it up) they were not Jewish. 3 Million Poles were killed, many (a great many) were Catholic.

The Third Reich also put Homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses and the mentally or physically disabled into the death camps. And Communists and other left wingers.

Israel was not a country at that time and I believe you’ll find Palestine was under British control.
