I am sure that SSM is not part of God’s perfect will. But if we humans refuse to cooperate with His grace, He may very well allow SSM in Australia as well.

But, He has promised us that “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.”

we have a vote here this month. SSM yes or no.

as soon as the forum moves I am going to
put up a pray for a majority no vote

Indeed. They may not be the worst of all sins, but they are the most common. Worse still, they are addictive and embarrassing. How many go to Hell not so much for sexual sins, as for a multitude of sacrileges because they did not confess their sexual sins or did not renounce them?

Which in turn is because what Calvinism opposes is not Catholicism, but Pelagianism. We’ve seen it time and again throughout the ages: the rejection of heresy leads to an opposite heresy, because those who overzealously reject heresy wind up mistaking sound doctrine for heresy.

This just in: The Pope is Catholic. Not that you would know it, by the way some of the people on here talk about him. You know, I’m not always going to agree with some of my boss’s decisions, but I’m not going to tell him that he’s not my boss.

I don’t see why it is not entirely possible that same-sex marriage legalisation could be overturned one day in the United States. Supreme Court rulings have been overturned before and they can be overturned again. Justices on the court change over time and who knows what case could potentially be coming to the court in the near or distant future to possibly challenge same-sex marriage.
It seems inconceivable that the issue moves in an out of favour - or in and out of legality - according to changes in the makeup of the bench.

No fault divorce was certainly a step along the way to same sex marriage. But what made same sex ‘marriage’ inevitable was the widespread Christian acceptance of artificial contraception, beginning in 1930. Before that, every Christian denomination had the same teaching against contraception as does the Catholic Church. Remove procreation as an essential element of marriage, and same sex imitations of marriage becomes inevitable, as does every other kind of non-marital sex, such as fornication and adultery.
