Pope says weapons manufacturers can't call themselves Christian

Here is an example of the gross hypocrisy about which Pope Francis was warning the world:

Our very own Dear Leader, a self-proclaimed Christian (no, not that hypocrisy), anti-war exemplar, protector of the Religion of Peace and basher of Crusaders at a “prayer meeting”, 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Barack Hussein Obama, just agreed to let Iran continue to develop nuclear weapons despite a veritable plethora of UN treaties and agreements, and despite the very real potential for nuclear war.

Now that’s world class hypocrisy!

So Robert Oppenheimer is burning in hell after all - good to know. Pity though - I always had a soft spot for him.
Thats a good question, I just watched a special on him the other day, I would say he truly regretted being involved and felt sorry with what he had helped come to fruition, but then again, that was decades ago, Im sure in the future, someone, somewhere will come up with something MUCH more destructive than nuclear!

This brings up another aspect of this that disturbes me. Assuming that Pope Francis was accurately quoted, he is not lecturing weapons manufacturers on the errors of their ways, which is what you’d expect from a pastoral pope, he is telling others to blame them for the violence of war.

If Pope Francis truly believes that weapons manufacturers are the cause of unjust war, why not address them privately or even publicly here:

Maybe hes trying to get us to take that next step, a statement from one guy (even if its the pope) only goes so far, but statements from 100s of 1000s of people, that gets the point across…that gets the ball rolling.

No, it’s not. And I explained why. You are welcome to try to show me where I am wrong.

People are killed in war, I get that.

For some, that is a reason to cease thinking. I don’t get that.
Bubba ,do you think I really understood in depth every word previous Popes spoke ? My sincere answer is no. And it was not the end of the world
When I really needed to understand something related to my everyday life , simple , I.asked the priest. But I trusted the Popes knew so much more. And they really did.

So when I say P. Framcis is Catholic ,I mean he is. So my thoughts remain within a Catholic perspective. No big deal.
I also understand I sort of grew up with his type of style.
I do not want to show you were you are wrong. I wish I could just tell you :trust and do not worry. Even then we would not be divided , we may just think differently. So peace ,Bubba.

Let’s not forget how he aided in the destruction of Libya (which also led to genocidal massacres and expulsions of black Libyans, so it’s ironic how many black people think he cares about them) and supports the Jihadi “rebels” in Syria.

This Iranian deal which will result in a nuclear Iran will define this president as the most incompetent in the history of the presidency.
Iran is no ordinary nation. It is the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, and Obama, the narcissist, was more interested in his own legacy than in ensuring that a nuclear Iran would never come about.
His will therefore be a legacy of supreme fecklessness that will make Andrew Johnson appear to be competent in comparison.

If it is ok for the USA to have a stockpile of weapons, it would be hypocritical to ban other countries having them too.

However it would make more sense for America to disarm first, then hopefully other countries might follow. America has used a nuclear bomb and America went into Iraq against United Nation instructions.

The US and UK made a serious mistake in overthrowing Mossadegh, a democratically elected leader of Iran in 1953. AFAIK, this was done because of the oil industry.

Makes no sense. The Roman Catholic Church had an army in the past, and they still have the Swiss Guard… which I find odd given Switzerland’s importance in driving the reformation.
Switzerland is also a major manufacturer of arms/weapons.

Members of the Vatican Swiss Guard mostly come from the Swiss cantons that are officially Catholic. The Protestant cantons of Switzerland were what drove the Reformation. Two different birds altogether.

Bad logic, bad idea.

No, it’s not hypocritical to keep stockpiles of weapons from countries bent on destroying others. Many of these ME countries have as some of their official goals is to wipe out other peoples or countries.

That makes no sense whatsoever.
America has used a nuclear bomb
So? It was used against a villainous, evil country that was murdering millions. Those bombs ended the war, and prevented wholesale invasion of the country that would have killed FAAAR more. And let’s not forget, it took TWO atom bombs to stop them!!! They refused to surrender even after the first one.

So? The UN is a corrupt, evil institution that holds no legitimate authority.

I don’t believe in murdering innocent children to stop a war. And Japan was ready to surrender anyway.

The Americans have an official policy of allowing mothers to kill their unborn children. What is it, some millions of unborn children legally killed in the USA?

But the American leaders, Barack Obama, Richard Nixon, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi are so much wiser than political leaders in other countries(??!!??).

Actually, Japan hesitated to surrender even after the first atomic bomb had been dropped.

And “murdering innocent children” is the nature of total war and certainly featured in WWII long before the atomic bombs were dropped. (London, Dresden, Tokyo, to name but a few examples.)

On the other hand, they’ve always been armed and willing to fight and die to defend the pope. That hasn’t changed.

No, Japan was not ready to surrender. They didn’t even surrender after the first atom bomb was dropped.

And casualties of war is not murdering innocent children. Plenty of children died in the bombing of Europe, but that doesn’t mean children were murdered by the Allied forces.
