Pope: The courage to do great things, the humility to appreciate little things

With all due respect, I’m not attacking or judging. Voris’ message was condemned fairly heavy handedly by Archbishop Vigneron. During the time when he was running “Real Catholic TV,”, he was told by the Archdiocese of Detroit that he did not have permission to describe the apostolate as “Catholic.” You can do a quick search to verify if you feel compelled. I stand by the Archbishop on this one.

So you stand against the bishop in Indiana who gave them permission to use the word Catholic?

How do my comments in this thread imply that I find Saints, Popes, Dr’s, Monarch, etc… to be unchristian? And where does 1960 come in to the conversation? I’m not tracking your thought process…help me understand.

In the past people were much more blunt in condemning evil.

Then you are WRONG.

I am not going to get into a “you know what” match with you or anyone else over this - but people need to get their stories straight. Detroit had no jurisdiction over RCTV at that time - only the Bishop in Indiana did, and he did not have an issue with the use of the name Catholic.

Now - others on this forum are going to swoop in and quote, and link, and post, and get their panties all in a bunch and say I’m wrong. Well, I’m here to tell you, from the inside, that I’m not.

That being said – it means absolutely NOTHING in the greater scheme of things. The world is still turning, Michael Voris is still broadcasting the amazing message of the TRUTH of the Catholic Church, and nothing has really changed. Souls are being saved, and that is all that matters at the end of the day.

I think you know that you are taking the point well out of context here…, but I’ll clarify what I meant…

The Latin word militans has a primary meaning of “serving as a soldier, military”, but it has a secondary meaning of “to struggle, to make an effort”. It is that second meaning of the word that is intended when thinking of the “Church Militant”. Christians on earth (the Church Militant) are still and always will be struggling against sin in order that, when we die, we might go to heaven and be members of the Church Triumphant. This is the true meaning of Church Militant in my mind. I’m saying bye, bye to the first type of militant and did so based on the comments our Pope made in the article in the original post…

Thank you for that. I always hated the term Church Militant, it comes off as violent in my mind. Now I’ll look at it in a different light, and actually kind of like the image.
