WASHINGTON (AP) – Blond porn star, political candidate. And now you can add one more line to Mary Carey’s resume: Republican booster.

Carey was in Washington Tuesday to attend the President’s Dinner, an annual fundraiser put on by the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

A few hours before the dinner, Carey met with reporters to show off her evening gown and talk about a Republican lunch she and her boss, adult film executive Mark Kulkis, attended.

“I met a lot of nice people,” Carey said of the lunch, where presidential adviser Karl Rove spoke. “I met some people who talked about helping me with donating money to my next campaign.”

IIRC, Reagan accepted donations from a gay group (which Dole had rejected). When confronted with this, he is said to have replied “I took their rmoney, not because I agree with them, but because they agree with me.”

All politicians accept money for services rendered. Read the story about Rep. Cunningham getting 1.6 million from his home sale. Just about every last one of them is doing nothing different than what poor men and women do on the streets of this country every day.

The hypocrisy lies with the moral values crowd who are suspiciously silent or make a joke of it.
 
About 95% of Hollywood supported Kerry, and former President Clinton, and I am supposed to worry about the occupation of every single Republican supporter?

I don’t support porn, and that is the important decision here.

As you can tell from this quote, she is not a very staunch Repbulican:

The longest journey begins with a single step. Who knows but that she will become a staunch Republican and maybe even run for office someday. (Like the Italian stripper who was elected to the Parliament there.)

Puts me in mind of an old San Francisco election where Sally Stanford one of the great madams of modern times ran for office, mayor of Sausalito – her campaign was based on providing public toilets for people in public areas. She won handily. Not only that she brought in people by the droves to her Valhalla Restaurant which knew how to pour a stiff drink and serve a good meal.

Of course, the Bay area is second only to Chicago in its more “colorful” politicians.

NO, I never talk to Michael Moore.
 
the republicans are a disgrace. they are losing touch with their traditional platform of family values. they are combing fiscal conservatisim and moral liberalism. so basically you have the worst of the worst. it all comes down to materialism and greed.

but you won’t hear deal hudson or the the people at crisis magazine critizing the republican party just like they suckered catholics to support an unjust war in iraq. they as are many other neo-conservatives in the church are more american then they are catholic.

this is because they are republican or american first and catholic second. this is the neo-con agenda. catholics have been suckered into an alligance with the republican party. crisis magazine and the national catholic register are part of this political agenda to get catholics to support the republican party. deal hudson basically works for the republican party. he’s totally biased.
 
You won’t get me to apologize for supporting the removal of a brutal sadistic murderer from terrorizing another generation under his boot. I wish we ousted Castro and helped the Sudan too. If we have strength and allow murder and genocide to continue how will our nation answer for it?

Get off your glib phraseology and look at the reality on the ground. Not just at the success in IRAQ (yes the sporadic terrorism is not as bad as a brutal dictator with his boot on an entire country) but also where we failed to act: Cuba generations of cubans being indoctrinated into Communist atheis; the Sudan where our brothers and sisters were and are being terrorized and killed.

We have the power to effect change but allow our brothers and sisters to be oppressed and murdered. How will we, the West, answer for it? It makes me tremble inside.

It makes me wonder how will we even answer for the sloppy aid we give that is then used to buy arms for dictators rather than food for the hungry.

As for Carey, it is sad. We lost the sexual revolution. We need to stand fast and proclaim the truth of monogamy and chastity, not call each other hypocrites at the drop of a dime

genocide!? why don’t you look in the mirror. our country committs far more genocide with abortion!!! with your logic, we should start by over throwing our govenrment first. second, Pope JPII the great and Pope B-16 both called the war in iraq unjust. read the catechism, not fox news to learn about your faith.

the fact of the matter is many of muslim countries follow natural law much better then our western “tolerant” democracies.
