Portland fatal shooting victim’s friend: ‘They executed my partner. They hunted him down’

‘They executed my partner. They hunted him down,’ Chandler Pappas said

By Louis Casiano | Fox News

The friend of a man gunned down Saturday in Portland amid a riot said his pal - whose picture was released Monday by police - was “executed” and “hunted down” for his conservative views.

Chandler Pappas told The Common Sense Converstive that he was with Aaron “Jay” Danielson – the shooting victim identified by Patriot Prayer founder Joey Gibson – as part the right-wing group in downtown Portland on Saturday. A massive pro-Trump caravan drove through the city as counterprotesters gathered for the 95th consecutive day . . .

. . . Video posted on social media showed a person suddenly dropping to the ground, and others rushing to assist, after what appears to be gunfire near an intersection as vehicles and pedestrians pass by. Pappas said he and Danielson were at the protest when someone recognized their Patriot Prayer caps.

“‘We got a couple of them right here. Pull it out,’” the attackers said, according to Pappas.

The shooter then opened fire and ran off, he said. . . .

. . . In a plea to Trump, Pappas asked him to send “troops” to Portland in an effort to quell the violence that has occurred nightly, resulting in shootings, arson, vandalism and assaults against protesters and authorities. . . .

. . . In response to the shooting, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, a Democrat, announced the state police would be returning to Portland . . .

Balto1 . . .
I guess when you’re part of a group that has been driving into Portland for years to assault people . . .
Wow. The leftist media has been telling me the unrest is a recent phenomenon. None of this before “Trump”.

Even people here have tried to say that.

Ya mean it isn’t true!!??

To everybody else. Balto1’s complaint against the victim here reminds me of the media blaming the victims.

(It is not the victim’s fault unless the victim himself does something. I’m not saying you are excusing this murder Balto1, but some might come to that wrong conclusion.

I have seen the same kind of thing with people blaming innocent kids for wearing a MAGA cap, then getting accosted. They have said he should expect it and it is partly on him for wearing a MAGA cap!)

He was part of a group that was driving around macing people and shooting people with paintball guns and then tried to mace a guy with a gun. Even if Pappas’ account is accurate, which we have no reason to believe without a thorough investigation, by the right wing’s standards of self defense this was a completely justified killing.

Are you blaming the victim here?

Are you arguing it is OK to kill a man in cold blood?

I can’t believe I am reading this from you Balto1. Please clarify.

I guess it is just like “taking out the trash” according to the leftist gal on the bullhorn here . . . .

I am arguing that if the deceased friend’s account is accurate then, combined with the video we have of the shooting, the right should be defending this killing as a case of justified self defense.

When everyone is bringing guns to a fight, that right to bear arms and protest, counter-protest, counter-counter-protest, those guns will eventually be used. It is a tragedy. Yet when I last suggested that these types of situations were not conducive to carrying guns, like in bars, I was universally dismissed by the Second Amendment folk here.

I have seen nor heard anything like this. We should see some backup at the least. He was part of the Patriot Prayer group is all I have heard.

The Mercury published an article but it lacks backup.

Patriot Prayer is an armed, right wing group that threatens violence against elected officials and trolls Portland looking for trouble.

I am in favor of peaceful protests. I think the violent groups should stay home.

The Patriot Prayer group is a peaceful, Bible-believing group. They have done nothing wrong.

I am for peaceful protesting groups.

I completely disagree with the legality of open carry.

Open carry with long guns is occupation. It’s meant to threaten.

Not protest.

If he was part of that white supremacist ‘militia’ coming to Portland, they were likely coming to hunt for protesters.

You are obviously unfamiliar with Patriot Prayer. You should read PaulinVA’s links, we in the PNW have been dealing with this violent group for years.

Yup, they dubbed it the “Battle of Portland” and drove around town attacking people.

One thing that’s heartening is that these right wing extremists don’t have much support anywhere with a significant population. Their response to this guy’s death is to hold a demonstration in Portland…in a month. Any attempt at a show of force by these people takes weeks to organize because they have to get people to travel in to have more than a dozen standing around. The left can get more people to show up on a weeknight with half an hour’s notice then the right can on a weekend day with a month’s notice.

Balto1 now shifting the blame to “the right” for this cold blooded murder . . . .
the right should be defending this killing as a case of justified self defense.
More blaming of innocent people in this case (“the right”).
And the excuses on behalf of this violent authoritarian leftist behavior that has proliferated across our nation and even the world . . . just never end.

Bold mine to emphasize the logical fallacy pnewton is attempting to feed you.

The victim was murdered in cold blood.

Your premise has a WRONG built-in presupposition.
(This was not a duel.
It was not a gun fight.
It was not a standoff.
It was a cold-blooded murder.)

It is not OK to murder innocent people.
Even if you label them bad names.

The fact remains. He was murdered in cold blood.
And almost nobody (left of me here) is flat-out condemning this!

I condemn the shooting of Aaron Danielson to exactly the same degree that Trump condemned the shooting of Anthony M. Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum.

And now if you will kindly link to where you condemned the shooting of Breonna Taylor, Atatiana Jefferson, Stephon Clark, Botham Jean, Philando Castille, Michelle Cusseaux, Akai Gurley, Tanisha Anderson, Ahmaud Arbery, and David McAtee.

I don’t think we can defend preemptively killing people in this manner, nor would any court endorse it.

There wasn’t anything preemptive about it, he was part of a group that was driving around town attacking people and then tried to mace a guy with a gun. Not really sure what he was expecting to happen.
