I just bought this skirt and this skirt from Target. They had some really cute knee-length (or slightly longer on women my height) skirts in stock.
Very pretty! Green is one of my favourite colours.I just bought this skirt and this skirt from Target. They had some really cute knee-length (or slightly longer on women my height) skirts in stock.
Ballet flats are very good with skirts, especially for the summer. They are also very comfortable. And you can find them in all sorts of colors and styles. Either casual or dressy.Since we are on the topic of skirts, maybe you ladies could help me out! I love skirts, but I cannot find shoes that aren’t open-toe that look nice with them (I have an issue with a nail that must remain covered). Any suggestions for shoes that cover the toes and would work with a skirt?
I wear low slingback heels - they’re cool enough for summer because the back is open. We’re not allowed open-toe shoes at work, so I’ve found a few pairs of cute ballet flats and slingback heels to wear with my dresses and skirts at work. It is really hard to find nice ones, especially those that are wearable all day.Since we are on the topic of skirts, maybe you ladies could help me out! I’m no help—i wear mostly tennis shoes, since I must wear some serious-looking orthotics or risk a ruptured tendon.Since we are on the topic of skirts, maybe you ladies could help me out! I have a couple of pairs of Rockport casual flats that are completely enclosed and that look fine with skirts. If you don’t mind a more klunky look, Dansko has lots of styles in clogs and shoes. I love Danskos – they are so comfortable, and I probably have 5 pairs.Since we are on the topic of skirts, maybe you ladies could help me out! How about a spectator pump? Naughty Monkey has some reallllly cute ones. They have quite a few closed-toe.Since we are on the topic of skirts, maybe you ladies could help me out! Yeah, I haven’t worn skirts on a regular basis for a long time. I wore one of my new skirts to the lab yesterday, and was surprised at how easy it was to work in it. The skirt hits just below my knees, and if I needed to crouch down to get something, the skirt billowed out and made a little tent over my legs- no modesty issues there. I’m not one to sit with my legs splayed out anyway, so that’s never an issue. I suppose if I had to be on a ladder it would be a problem, but one of the running lab jokes is that we don’t have a step-ladder and I’m forever having to ask the guys to get things for me from high shelves. In the Fall of 2006 I started to wear long skirts all of the time. I’m used to it now. Although I do not do much housework, to me it isn’t that hard wearing a skirt or a dress while working. It is very hard to find skirts that actually look good and fit me though. I like long (mid-calf length is the shortest I’d go), plain looking skirts. Usually I only wear clothes that are solid in color or have prints, such as floral.
You could always just tell them you’ve discovered that skirts are far more comfortable than pants. Or that you had an epiphany about dressing more feminine. And actually, I’ve noticed that I’m warmer in skirts in the winter than when I wear jeans. I wear a pair of tights (sometimes two, depending on the weather), and a pair of knee-high socks and I’m super warm!I’ve just recently made the switch to skirts only a couple of months ago after reading “Dressing with Dignity” and other various modesty information. I’m finding I feel way more feminine in them. Summer will be easy in skirts…but I think winter will be challenging. I think I’m more worried about what people will say to me about wearing skirts when it’s so cold outside… It is a very drastic change for me, so I know I will receive comments from family and friends. Any suggestions on how to handle that??
Your right…I’ve thought of that…I don’t know why I’m so worried about what other people think. It’s good to hear from other like-minded people and I make sure I re-read information regarding feminine modesty to keep me committed. You could always just tell them you’ve discovered that skirts are far more comfortable than pants. **I wear skirts almost exclusivly. I have done this for a long time now. Yes I took care of three kids, worked in the garden, bathed the dogs etc. I used to homeschool, but was lucky enough to move to an area with a great parish school. I like long flowing skirts, similar to the one below, but usually more colorful. I generally find them at thrift stores, it is hard to find them at stores. I keep thinking somewhere must sell them, because I almost always find them at the thrift store, but never have seen one in a storeHave any ladies here just worn skirts, no pants or shorts, for a long time? And do you find it’s hard to do all your daily chores? I’m a SAHM and homeschooler, and often am out gardening or doing other outside work.
LOL, I will never wear a jumper, or navy blue for that matter, and I have been out of school for a looooong time.I LOVE the Cherokee brand shirts - really nice quality at a good price.
I have no problem with longer denim skirts, but jumpers
I vowed never to wear them after graduating from Catholic school and I have kept my word![]()
Yes, I love this style.http://zoom.jcpenney.com//is/image/..._usm=1.5,.8,0,0&resmode=sharp&hei=250&wid=250
This is the kind of summer skirt I love… cotton, billows in the wind… comfy
I’ve heard of those…I’ll have to get some this fall. What about shoes?? Maybe I’m worrying too much,I wore skirts all winter long this past winter, and sometimes we would walk to church.
I highly recommend Cuddleduds–they’re long underwear, but made of silk, so they’re very thin and don’t add a lot of bulk. You can buy them online, or at department stores. I would wear a pair of those, and thick knee socks, and I was warm.I can’t stand tights, they don’t fit me right around the middle
so i went for the long underwear/socks routine.
You can’t go wrong with a pair of Dansko’s. I have some brown clogs that I can wear with EVERYTHING! Great winter shoes!I mean…winter shoes. I wear sandles during the summer…but not sure what to wear with skirts this next fall/winter. I’m thinking some tall boots and maybe some maryjanes…
I’m not the one to give advice on footwear. I missed inheriting the shoe gene from my mom (who adored buying shoes and had different shoes for every outfitI mean…winter shoes.
