Well LateranBasilica.
You were wondering about 7_Sorrows mentioning . . .
So are you against having armed security
providing protection at places of worship
to defend the worshippers from being attacked and being defenseless?
I cannot answer or develop the question for 7_Sorrows.
But I CAN ask the same thing for myself.
Now you would almost certainly ask me the same question.
Please explain how you made that leap.
Well I haven’t made that leap (yet).
But
if you want to outlaw ALL guns, then it is pretty easy to make that “leap”. (The police would not have guns if they were “
outlawed” would they?)
Or . . .
If you want to outlaw ALMOST ALL guns, but
ONLY AGAINST law-abiding citizens in New Zealand, then you are taking away from the only defense that these people had initially.
And if you read international stories (like I have), you find out the good guy with the shotgun, had to run home in the middle of the mayhem to get even that.
So you are in effect in PRINCIPLE (I am NOT saying you are WANTING this, but the PRINCIPLE of what you may be saying, the circumstances would demand it in this case), allowing the killer to go unchecked at all (until the police arrive) or perhaps be bold enough to go kill more people elsewhere!
Yet the good guy with a gun at least had SOMETHING for defense even as helpless as these people were.
Actually I have no idea what you are thinking in this area because I am still waiting to hear what you have to say.
So what are you thinking here? Please clarify this situation regarding your suggestions.
