I just don’t have any hope left. Roe v Wade is still the law of the land and now this. Wasn’t God listening to all the prayers that have already been prayed. Catholic school children were even praying for the defeat of this monster. There isn’t even the hope for the Supreme Court now if the Dems are in control. We can kiss goodbye overturning R v W any time soon. All hope is gone.
I know how you feel. We must remember that God is still in control and we always have hope. This fits with God’s plan in some way.

I am going to go buy a mourning band and wear it till they repeal this horrid thing. I wish I had moved to missouri in time to vote in this election, but I didn’t 😦 Well, I guess I should fight till the thing is gone!!
Question: is it possible that voters did not really understand what the ballot initiative was all about? We are a nation of people who have stopped reading and get all of our news from tv. They saw Michael J. Fox and believed what he said and did not bother to check out the actual facts before they cast their vote.

I think you’re right. If a voter had no idea what was going on and read the wording on the ballot, it would sound great. Too bad the ballot language was a lie.

I’m not one in favor of lawsuits to settle elections, but I wonder if there’s anything to be done? If not, I’m truly embarrassed to be a Missourian. I want to give my fellow citizens the benefit of the doubt, but they’d have had to be living under a rock with no contact to the outside world not to know about Amendment 2. It seems to me like they’re in favor of cloning and killing people. Plus, they elected a woman who’s in favor of killing children to the Senate. I’m really disappointed in this country.

Absolutely, the ballot said a yes vote would ban human cloning. The “Father of Lies” was all over this one.

Be hopeful! Our prayers have been heard! We almost won. We got more than 49% of the vote. A couple of weeks ago the no votes were around 30-35%. Many of the “yes” votes were based on deception. It is only b/c we lost that we WILL outlaw all forms of human cloning in Missouri. If we would’ve won last night cloning would probably still remain legal. Now we’ve lost and God will bring the greater good out of it. Soon we will ban cloning and they will have to move their labs elsewhere. 89+% of Missourians are against cloning. Many thought they were voting to outlaw it. Contact your state legislature let them know you’re outraged. Most of them are also outraged. Especially Matt Bartle, contact him and encourage him. senate.mo.gov/06info/senalpha.htm

I heard on the news Wednesday that about a year ago a poll was done and at that time Amendment 2 had support from 2/3 of the responders. I definitely think momentum was going in our direction and we just ran out of time. I’m hopeful that the good momentum will carry us forward into the campaign to repeal this evil Amendment.

The proponents of this Amendment definitely knew what they were doing and how to do it: appeal to people’s emotions, change the definition of cloning since that concept is objectionable to most people, use vague language to make it seem like anyone who opposed it was against all stem cell research and finding cures for diseases. I’m so glad that the vote was as close as it was, although I’m very disappointed it ended up passing.

As a member of and speaker for Missourians Against Human Cloning, I too was very disappointed with the outcome. We were consistently behind in the polls and then had a huge surge of support in the final few weeks as we aggressively got the word out regarding the nature of the amendment. I think perhaps the message our Lord was sending by getting us so close but still losing is that the when the truth is spoken hearts and minds will change. However, perhaps He didn’t want us to get too comfortable and lazy with a victory. Rather we must press on and Missourians Against Human Cloning plans to do just that.
