Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, you know the torments of the mentally ill - both their secret torments and the obvious. We pray today for a perfect cure for all mental illnesses, as medicine isn’t perfect and often is detrimental. Comfort the afflicted and show them your love and compassion and especially send them a speedy, perfect cure. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Don’t know why all of sudden feeling very sorrowful. We’ve been having a pretty good week - DH has been more helpful w/ the kids in the morning and working in the evenings on our fence outside and then even helping men of the parish on a construction project. We had a nice family get-together and dinner this weekend and we all went to church together on Sunday. I’ve been getting to bed at a decent hour, getting up and working out in the mornings and actually getting out the door on time and having some small break- throughs in child-rearing/discipline.

For whatever reason I was feeling somewhat lonely this morning and called to talk to my mom. From there we got on the subject of Home Improvement projects and I wasn’t mindful enough to stop myself before indulging in my gripes about this very sore subject. It just drudged up all my feelings of helplessness and disappointment at not being able to depend on DH for help and reminding me how alone I feel that I have nobody to call on for help, either friends or family. Of course, how can I develop friendships if I never leave the house? And I’m too embarrassed and hurt and completely consumed by the state of affairs in our marriage to just invite someone over for a casual get-together with the kids.

I just wish mom could have been mindful enough to say that she’d pray for DH and that if it wasn’t in God’s timing for us to work on HI projects that God would gently change the desires of my heart and help me to be content on focusing on my children and developing a closer relationship with the Lord. Even typing this now, I just can’t seem to overcome my sorrow to really let this message sink in.

Feelings of sorrow and discouragement and being reminded of our inadequacies and my disappointments make me not even want to work on the things I’ve been so excited about and which are normally very important to me. Please God, develop in me the skills and the discipline to bear my cross and suffer graciously and to persevere as a matter of choosing to love you and those in my life until my feelings can fall into place.

Please pray for me, suffering some depression. I frequently have feelings of worthlessness, just feeling like my life is of no real value to anyone. When I say this of course, I mean DH in particular. He is so caught up in his own strife that I cannot even talk to him about my troubles - the burden weighs him down even more and he cannot cope, so he flakes out and just ‘escapes’ into his computer addiction.

Feeling really alone, I literally have nobody to confide in who can really sympathize or give sound advice. Really just too embarrassed to go and talk to our priest. I’m not opposed to counseling, but we really cannot afford it. I really need DH to come along side me and say to me, ‘we’ll work through it together,’ and discuss options/plans as to how we can accomplish it all.

Also, have feelings of jealousy for acquaintances from church who really seem to have solid marriage and family bonds. It just seems like these people really just rally around and support each other and they have this real joy and peace in their lives that is totally foreign to me. The joy of the Lord departed from me some time ago.

Feeling like all of my efforts to try and make plans for our family financially and in parenting/disciplining are futile and just that nobody cares if DH doesn’t care and isn’t there with me. Just feel like the kids and I don’t matter to him. There’s a loss of joy and a lot of fear in his life as well.

Please pray for us that rather than being driven further apart, the Lord will bring us together to work thru our troubles together in His name. I know He loves our family and wants us to succeed if for no other reason than to glorify Him in the sacrament of Matrimony and to care for our children as His.
Lord we ask that you fill the hearts of JLCecelia’s family with the ability to forgive, love and cooperate with one another. That in forgiveness of one anothers sins, and the reaching out in love for one another, they may come to know joy, peace and happiness once more.

Lord make me an instrument of your peace.
