Praying for relief of your depression…

Lord Jesus Christ, You have willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental disease and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. .

Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be Your will. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, as is and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell,
lead all souls to heaven, especially, those in most need of Your Mercy.
Amen

Dear St. Monica,

Troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant to us that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for us, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear our pleas
for all non practicing Catholics and those
discerning conversion to Catholicism.

Amen.

I posted another thread on Thursday for our anniversary: I had wanted DH and I to go to mass together for our anniversary since we didn’t have the money to go out, but it didn’t happen. Rather than going alone, I just popped in to light a candle. I saw there a woman with her 4 oldest of 7 home-schooled grandchildren attending daily mass - how beautiful! It reminded me that I had quit praying to God that He would allow me to be a SAHM, thinking this will never happen as DH is absolutely NOT on board. So He laid it on my heart and I offered up the prayer again.

I have probably been making myself heartsick by listening to CDs by Kimberly Hahn (A Mother’s Rule of Life) and I can’t remember if it was something in the talks or what it was that put me over the edge Friday afternoon, but I could barely finish out the day and make it to my car before the tears just started streaming. DH was actually home to help get with the kids the minute we stepped inside and I could just dash off to have my mini- meltdown. He just added to the frustration by saying ‘What’d I do now?’

I really didn’t want to talk to him about why I was upset b/c I knew it was a hot topic and I didn’t want to fight on top of feeling as bad as I did, but I finally opened up. Absolutely no response. In fact, he’s yet to acknowledge my feelings. Saturday, he was up and off to work, then outside to work on the fence, then off to his fantasy football draft, so I was basically alone while he did his thing. I appreciate all of his hard work that past few weeks helping his brother out getting their new home ready, but he’s still been neglecting me, the kids, and his basic duties around the house. It’s basically another form of escape for him to get away from the house and us and go visit with others.

I decided to go ahead and take the kids to mass by myself Saturday night figuring that DH could not be counted on Sunday morning after a night out w/ the guys. The kids were unbearable and just so disruptive, I was so embarrassed and overwhelmed. The only reason DH called that evening was to ‘tell’ me that he was going out to the bars but he’d be home at midnight. I woke up for a potty break @ 12:0 and he wasn’t home yet. I got a hold of him after several attempts and he said he’d be home soon - didn’t come home till 2:30. I had explicity asked him earlier in the evening to please take our 3yo to mass in the morning for some extra training, but DH did not get out of bed till 4 in the afternoon! Even then, he was completely helpless and went back to bed in a matter of hours. He was up again @ 3 this a.m. watching t.v., but went back to bed where he is now. He hasn’t set his alarm which pretty well states his intentions (or lack thereof) for the day.

I am so frustrated! To top things off, I still haven’t talked to my sitter about whether she will be able to take the new baby. Her granddaughter has moved back in with her and I’m not sure what the circumstances are, but I think they’re really trying on my sitter - she just hasn’t been as friendly lately and there was even an incident with my son that put me off a little, but I kept to myself. Can’t help but worrying about her declaring retirement soon and just not wanting to deal with adjusting to something else. Also, just feeling a clenching need for complete control over my children in order to instill the training and discipline I really want rather than having opposing forms between what they get at the sitter and what they get at home.

Just want to be at home with my babies. Wish my mom could be nearer too. Wish DH would get with the program.

Feeling sad this afternoon and just want to go home and lie down - not enough work to keep my mind busy and off my worries. DH asked to come out and I put lunch on my meal ticket when I made special arrangements for him to have quickie lunch food to AVOID additional expense since things are so tight. I went on home for lunch and not 2 days ago felt like I had the house under control, but it’s just in disarray again and I can’t stand it.

I really just feel like I am so disorganized and I’m not able to buy little things here and there for around the house to help w/ this or to have time alone to get organized and I feel like I’m just all over the place trying to accomplish one task! Maybe if DH would help a little, it would be less cumbersome - again, feeling very alone b/c I don’t have his help.

He made a very sincere verbal apology to me yesterday for this weekend, but no physical retribution as far as helping me get caught up on chores. Instead, I found him up @ 2 or 3 watching t.v. shows on the computer. Just so irritating! And then he acts like it’s a big drag that I’ve asked him to do his very basic duties for me! Then he has the nerve to ask to get on to his game tonight!!! I just said I don’t care. Either let him get on or deal with his attitude and shortness with the children (as a way of getting back at me).

Just tired and weary and sad and alone.

Praying hard for you and family. May the Lord give you the strength to continue to persevere.
