po:

I actually made it to Mass today, hooray! During the elevation of the Eucharist, I offered you to the Lord. I also offered everyone at CAF, those known and unknown to me. Hope you are having a good day.

Blessings,
Judi

Hey guys, I’m sure you are, for the most part, familiar with my dad po18guy who (from what I’ve heard) posts quite a bit on these forums.

Yesterday he had his first chemo treatment for his lymphoma cancer which took about roughly 3 hours since it was the first one. I waited there with my mom. Anyway, when he was done he only felt tired, which was to be expected; however, while in the car he got the chills, started violently shaking, and passed out. We drove him to the hospital (which was close and took less time than an ambulance) and apparently the chemo therapy had been extremely hard on his heart. He spent the night and now they’re going to transfer him to a larger hospital that is in conjunction with facility he’s getting his treatment. He’ll be in in-patient therapy for the cancer.

We (my family and I) would really appreciate your prayers. I don’t know what they’re going to do in terms of treatment if this is what happened. I don’t know what I can to do emphasize how important this is but I hope I got my point across.

Thank you so much and God Bless!

Yes, I will pray for your dad.

Jim,

I haven’t posted in this thread in a while, but I have been praying and will continue to pray for your complete recovery. Hang in there!

God Bless,
Gary

Just wanted you to know that since you are on my prayer list (actually a book now!) I still prayer for you earnestly everyday. Now I also have your daughter, Danielle on that list as well. Once you are in my book you are never forgotten and always prayed for with the utmost love.

May God bless you and your family with the grace, mercy and strength to conquer all this and may you healing be complete and compassionate.

**I’m praying for you and your daughter, po18guy. I’m so sorry for your suffering, but I lift you up in my Rosary prayers, daily–for your suffering to be united with Christ. You and I both know that we live in this world, a fallen world, so there will be suffering. the good news is that God is always there beside us…I am praying that you heal in body mind and spirit, very very soon…

God bless!**

FickleFreckled, 244Rocket, whatevergirl, cassie89, JustJane, gez722, wina, graceandglory, GemmaRose and any and all that I have forgotten: it is a blessing, and humbling experience to have all of your prayers. I know that they are responsible for the sustaining graces I have received during treatment. God bless you all!

Tomorrow I go in for several CT scans and a P.E.T. scan. Based on the outcome of those, my future treatment will be decided upon. For all who may one day undergo this same cross, I assure you that your brothers and sisters in Christ will buoy your spirit through it all. It is much more tolerable, much more acceptable when faith is not only the foundation, but the motivation.

Again, thank you all for taking irreplaceable time in prayer. Treasure in heaven awaits you.

Christ’s peace.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

The times when the momentum of treatment slows, when tests are needed and results are waited upon can be some of the most emotionally torrid. I ask the Lord to send His angels to assist you and those who treat you. May the Holy Spirit bring you comfort and may our Loving God continue to send you abundant graces as he so obviously has been.

Still very much in my daily prayers my friend. May God continue to be with you and your family…

Great to hear from you! I have not even asked for a prognosis. Listening to man speak is depressing. Listening to the Lord is uplifting.

Still praying that you and Jordan are well.

May Christ’s peace be always with you.

You are so right about listening to man speak! I try to tell my kids the same thing (even though I have a hard time with that myself). I hope things turn out well for you today. You are in my prayers!

Blessings,
Judi

Brothers and sisters, I survived the scans today, and I know now exactly how a car feels when it is up on the lift! It was not the most pleasant, since they had to inflate and deflate an internal organ (avoiding TMI here!) to get a better view for the scans. However, when I was able to concentrate, I was praying for all of you, not wanting any time to go to waste.

Doctor says I am a stellar patient and he is quite optimistic that we are beating this. I credit all of you and your consistent and fervent prayers. May riches in Heaven await you! I asked for strength and received it. It appears that I have four more chemo treatments, but with different chemicals and less intensity, since the original four chemicals (and all chemo) have cumulative toxic effects. The signs were beginning to show. The only downside is a new set of potentially horrible side effects!

More good news is this will be outpatient and I can skip the three-day stays in the hospital. That remains an option if the cancer returns in the future.

Again, your continued prayers store up treasure in Heaven for all of you, and are also doing me a lot of good. My family and I thank you and bless you all for your kindness.

Christ’s peace.

I’m glad to hear you survived your tests. YUCK! Being inflated in any organ is not pleasant - I have experienced that myself. Ewwww! Anyway, you’re such a trooper. I don’t know how you keep so optimistic, but I’m sure it’s the Holy Spirit doing it in you. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. God bless. I hope you have a good day!
