Praying for you, po18guy, for healing and grace.
Hopefully no more hospitals in your future for a long time!

Jim, thank you for your update.
I can be online everyday but you are in my daily prayer.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Prayers and Intercessions

Let us raise our eyes to Christ. For his people he was born; he died; he rose from the dead. So let us put our trust in him and pray:
  • Lord, give salvation to those you redeemed with your blood.
Blessed are you, Jesus, saviour of mankind. You did not hesitate to suffer and die for us:
by your precious blood we are redeemed.
You promised to give water welling up into eternal life:
pour out your Spirit over all mankind.
You sent your disciples to preach the Good News to the nations:
help them to extend the victory of your Cross.
The sick and poor share your cross:
give them the gifts of strength and patience.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Almighty Father, let your light soak deeply into our minds.
Stepping forward in the light of your commandments,
may we follow you always, our leader and our guide.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.

Dearest Blessed Mother, once again I ask that you wrap your loving mantle around Jim and his family and present them to your Divine Son. Please obtain from Him for them first and foremost peace of mind and heart, and continuing trust in the mercy of God. Please also ask Jesus to spare Jim from the side effects of the new chemo, and thank Him for the gift that Jim is and for the inspiration he gives us all.

May God’s holy will be done! Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.

Thank you Simon X, the phoenix, Mom, FickleFreckled, wina, 244rocket and GemmaRose!

Per the nurse, the scans “look good”. I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I am sure that I do not have to go in-patient for the next round of chemo. Doctor is switching to a less intense “cocktail” since my first round was rather hard-hitting, due to the aggressiveness of the cancer. So, one 75 mile round trip per week instead of four.

This I credit to your continuing prayers. My family and I thank you profoundly and may God have to expand Heaven to store all of the treasure you are building up for yourselves!

I am so happy for you (your scans turned out o.k.). It must be a good feeling knowing that you don’t need to go into the hospital for your next treatment. I continue praying for you and thanking God for the wonderful friend you are and witness to God’s mercy!

Blessings,

Jim,

I’m so incredibly happy to hear that your health is improving. It gives me joy to know that the Lord has given you strength and faith in these trying times; may your road to recovery continue to be fruitful, my friend.

Please, continue to keep us updated. It’s always good hearing from you :).

Heavenly Father, we give praise and glory to Your name! Continually and without fail, You pour out your love, mercy, and kindness upon You children, even though we are not worthy of such love on our own.

Yet love us You do, completely and faithfully, without fail.

My King, who gives comfort and strength to the weak, we thank You for pouring out Your Spirit upon our brother, Jim. You have guided his healing and have been at his bedside, allowing his suffering to be with Your suffering.

We ask you, with faith and hope in Your promises, to please continue pouring out Your mercies for Jim. Let his continued healing be a further testament of Your love for us, and may it continue to urge us to take heart in You!

We ask these things through Christ, Our Lord, who reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.

Jim, thank you for your update and I’m happy for you.
You are always in my prayer

Jim, so happy to hear your condition is improving. You remain in my prayers.

I am praying for you and am humbled by your faith and courage!

God bless you and your dear ones, po18guy.

Brothers and sisters, I survived the scans today, and I know now exactly how a car feels when it is up on the lift! It was not the most pleasant, since they had to inflate and deflate an internal organ (avoiding TMI here!) to get a better view for the scans. However, when I was able to concentrate, I was praying for all of you, not wanting any time to go to waste.

Doctor says I am a stellar patient and he is quite optimistic that we are beating this. I credit all of you and your consistent and fervent prayers. May riches in Heaven await you! I asked for strength and received it. It appears that I have four more chemo treatments, but with different chemicals and less intensity, since the original four chemicals (and all chemo) have cumulative toxic effects. The signs were beginning to show. The only downside is a new set of potentially horrible side effects!

More good news is this will be outpatient and I can skip the three-day stays in the hospital. That remains an option if the cancer returns in the future.

Again, your continued prayers store up treasure in Heaven for all of you, and are also doing me a lot of good. My family and I thank you and bless you all for your kindness.

Christ’s peace.
May the Lord spare you the side efects and any deleterious sequelae from the treatment.

You are an inspiration to all of us.

Still praying that God will continue to work His miracles in your life for healing, strength, peace and few side effects.

~A Prayer for Healing~

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
You invite all who are heavy burdened
to come to You and find rest.

Teach me
to reach out to You in my need.
Help me
to lead others to Your Sacred Heart.

Touch my soul
with Your compassion for others.
Touch my heart
with Your courage and love for all.

Touch my mind
with Your wisdom and grace.
Touch gently my life
with Your healing hand,
Amen.

May God and the Blessed Mother be always by your side and may you continue to heal. God Bless you and your’s,:angel1: Coco, Prayer Warrior~relatively new to the group…

Brothers and Sisters, DW spoke to the nurse directly. Apparently, they saw no cancer activity on my scans and used the “R” word (remission). However, if there is even one cancer cell left, I still have cancer, so rapidly do they clone themselves. So, the chemo must continue until we can be medically certain that all cancer cells have been destroyed.

I again credit this, and my easy journey through all of this to your prayers. I stand as testimony to the power of your prayer. I asked for strength and received it. All of you asked for healing and that God’s will be done. I am have received healing as well and it appears that the Lord has more for me to do. I can only take this as a redirection of my life, more in conformity with His desire for me.

I have just begun my second set of chemo and now have to deal with some different side effects. However, great advances have been made in recent years regarding the control of side effects. With the strength I have received from above, and your constant intercession, we shall all emerge on the far side of this to a greater union with God.

May the Lord bless all of you, now and throughout eternity. Amen.
