Christ’s peace my brothers and sisters. Thank you and may the Lord bless you for your prayers. With one exception, the scans showed my body to be free of suspected cancer activity. That exception is a “hot spot” on the right side of my neck. All that is known is that it is likely a lymph node and that it was using the radioactive glucose that I was injected with. The radiologists cannot say what the cause of it is, so they forwarded the report to my oncologist for him to examine. He told me that it was likely a swollen lymph node, about 5-6 mm in diameter. It could either be a return of the cancer or as simple as an infection. It is too small to biopsy, as they probably could not find it, or distinguish between it and other similar sized nodes. I have another scan scheduled in March. According to Doctor, the node will then be either larger (not good), or back to normal (good).
This entire odyssey has lent new meaning to the three Aves that I say at the beginning of each Rosary for an increase in faith, hope and love! Until then, I pray for strength, and for those in need of prayer. Amen.
